Kamala Harris to Highlight Teacher Pay Proposal In Return Trip To South Carolina on April 19-21, 2019 *Updated
Senator Kamala Harris will return to South Carolina on April 19, 20, and 21. Harris will hold two town halls at Winthrop University in Rock Hill and South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. Harris will highlight her recent proposal to increase average teacher pay in South Carolina by 19 percent, as well as her broader policy agenda for the Palmetto State. Additionally, Harris will headline an event with the Orangeburg County Democratic Party and meet with faith and community leaders in Holly Hill. Harris will also attend Easter Sunday church service at Bible Way Church in Columbia.
This is Harris’s fourth visit to South Carolina as a presidential candidate. She previously held town halls and meet and greets in several locations across the state including Charleston, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Hemingway, and St. George. She also visited several women-owned businesses, stopped by Rodney Scott’s BBQ for lunch, and attended the Pink Ice Gala with her fellow AKAs in Columbia.
