Elizabeth Warren to Travel to Northern Virginia and New Hampshire *Updated

Charlestown, MA - On Thursday, Elizabeth Warren will hold a town hall in Northern Virginia at George Mason University. The following Saturday, she will travel to New Hampshire where she will attend a house party in Rochester and keynote the Rockingham County Democratic Committee’s annual clambake. On Sunday, she will attend a house party in Bedford and hold a town hall in Nashua.

This will be Warren’s 10th trip to New Hampshire. So far, she has visited Manchester, Concord, Claremont, Dover, Laconia, Plymouth, Nashua, Salem, Exeter, Bethlehem, Littleton, Berlin, Intervale, Conway, Durham, Portsmouth, Lebanon, Hanover, Londonderry, Keene, Weare, Amherst, and Goffstown.

The events are open to the public.

On Thursday, May 16, Senator Kamala Harris will return to Nevada to campaign in Las Vegas. She will attend a meet and greet with One APIA Nevada, a nonprofit organization that advocates for policies empowering Asian Pacific Islander Nevadans, and a meet and greet with leaders in the Latinx community. Harris will continue to highlight her proposal to increase the average pay for a Nevada teacher by $15,000 in order to fully close the pay gap between teachers and comparable professionals. She will also discuss her plan to take bold executive actions to combat gun violence if Congress fails to pass comprehensive gun safety legislation in her first 100 days in office.

Castro Campaign Officially Unionizes Following Candidate’s First-in-the-Field Pledge to Support Workers
Campaign staff sign agreement with Campaign Workers Guild (CWG) that was swiftly recognized by campaign management

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 9, 2019) – On Thursday, April 9, 2019, the presidential campaign for former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julián Castro, announced that its workers had officially formed a union, following Secretary Castro’s first-in-the-field pledge to support unionization of his staff. After campaign staff unanimously signed cards with the Campaign Workers Guild (CWG), the Julián for the Future campaign management swiftly recognized the union, per a neutrality agreement reached with the CWG.

"From the first days of his exploratory committee, in December 2018, Secretary Castro committed to supporting his campaign staff in efforts to unionize,” said Campaign Manager Maya Rupert. “Unions are essential protections for workers, including campaign workers, and the teams of people who work to elect out leaders should do so with the protections of union organizing. Our campaign is extremely proud to be the first presidential campaign to take this step with the Campaign Workers Guild, and we look forward to bargaining in good faith.”

"Secretary Castro takes a backseat to no one when it comes to supporting his staff,” said union member and Deputy National Press Secretary Sawyer Hackett. “He was the first candidate to pledge to pay interns $15/hour, the first to put together a staff manual with a strong sexual harassment policy, and he was the first to support his staff forming a union to ensure the employees of his campaign are not left behind in advancing his vision for the future of our nation. I'm proud to announce that our campaign has availed ourself of that support and formed a recognized union with the Campaign Workers Guild.”

EL PASO, TEXAS — Today, U.S. presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke announced that Jeff Berman has joined his campaign team as Senior Advisor for Delegate Strategy.

As National Delegate Director for President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign, Berman played a crucial role in securing the necessary delegates that led to Obama’s historic primary victory, widely considered one of the greatest political upsets of all time. Berman also served as a senior consultant to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, helping her clinch the 2016 Democratic nomination.

“We're excited that Jeff Berman has joined our team,” said O’Rourke. “His expertise and proven success in navigating the primary process will help us put people back at the center of our democracy as we ensure every voice is heard during the most consequential election of our lifetimes."

Kamala Harris to Return to New Hampshire on May 15, 2019

Senator Kamala Harris will return to New Hampshire on Wednesday, May 15. Harris will hold a public town hall in Nashua where, among other issues, she will discuss her plans to raise teacher pay and provide the middle class with tax relief. She will also discuss her plan to combat gun violence, which she rolled out last month in Manchester.

This trip will be another opportunity for New Hampshire residents to hear directly from Harris about her vision for America and ask her questions about important issues. Since announcing her campaign, Harris has traveled throughout the Granite State, visiting Portsmouth, Manchester, Concord, Keene, Hanover, and Claremont.
