LAS VEGAS – Sen. Bernie Sanders’ Senior Advisor Jeff Weaver on Wednesday issued the following statement:

“During a campaign event yesterday evening, Sen. Sanders experienced some chest discomfort. Following medical evaluation and testing he was found to have a blockage in one artery and two stents were successfully inserted. Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”

Sanders to visit Riverside Community College, California State University Bakersfield, and Fresno City College

CALIFORNIA -- Sen. Bernie Sanders will return to California on Thursday, October 3, for a two-day California College Tour. Stops include Riverside Community College, California State University Bakersfield, and Fresno City College.

The trip is focused on engaging young and Latinx voters -- a demographic reflected in the Bernie 2020 California leadership, which includes Rafael Návar, State Director; Shelli Faustian Jackson, Deputy State Director; and Joselin Garcia, California Student Organizing Director.

“There is no doubt, the Latinx community and young voters will deliver Bernie Sanders’ victory in the California primary,” said Návar. “No other candidate is prepared to take on a system that has disenfranchised hard working people. Californians understand that only Senator Sanders has the vision to make housing affordable, create tuition-free public colleges, and fight for the good-paying, union jobs that all Americans deserve. The Latinx community is the strength of our grassroots movement in the Golden State, and we do not underestimate their power in this election.”

In addition to the College Tour, Sanders will expand the California organizing efforts by opening and speaking at two field office opening celebrations in Riverside and East Los Angeles.

Kamala Harris to Return to South Carolina on October 5, 2019

On October 5, Kamala Harris will return to South Carolina where she will headline the Charleston County Democratic Party’s Blue Jamboree. Harris will also hold a town hall in Beaufort County.

This will be Harris’ eleventh trip to South Carolina as a presidential candidate. In addition to attending Congressman Clyburn’s World Famous Fish Fry and speaking at the SCDP convention, she has previously held town halls and meet and greets in several locations across the state including Anderson, Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville, Hartsville, Hemingway, Holly Hill, Myrtle Beach, Orangeburg, Rock Hill, St. George, and Spartanburg.

She has also visited several women-owned businesses, stopped by Rodney Scott’s BBQ for lunch, given the keynote address at the Columbia and Charleston NAACP Freedom Fund dinners, participated in the Planned Parenthood Action forum on reproductive rights, addressed the Charleston Black Expo, and attended the Pink Ice Gala with her fellow AKAs in Columbia. Harris has also attended church services in South Carolina in Columbia, North Charleston, and Florence.

(SAN FRANCISCO, September 30, 2019) — Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer has launched “Talk to Trump,” an innovative new ad campaign that gives the American people a chance to submit videos of themselves directly addressing Donald Trump. Some of the videos will air as television ads in the coming weeks on Fox & Friends, a place Trump is likely to see them. The ad campaign gives the American public a chance to raise their voices and tell Donald Trump exactly what matters most to them, and how much he has failed them as president. Steyer’s grassroots work and his presidential bid have focused on giving more power to the American people, and this effort is a new and innovative way to give people the power to talk directly to Trump.

For two years, Steyer has called for Trump’s impeachment and built a grassroots movement of over 8.3 million supporters. The ad campaign follows Nancy Pelosi’s announcement that the House of Representatives will begin a formal impeachment inquiry.

Newark, NJ — Nine days after alerting supporters in an urgent memo that the campaign had to raise $1.7 million by September 30th in order to put itself on a trajectory to compete for the Democratic nomination, Cory 2020 announced it had met its goal -- more than a day ahead of its self-imposed deadline.

The campaign crossed the $1.7 million threshold at approximately 8:16pm ET Sunday night, and as of 11:59pm ET, has raised $1,783,504.44 since sending the memo on Saturday, September 21.

“When we made the decision to be completely honest with folks about where we stood and what we needed to raise to put this campaign on a path to be successful, we didn’t know how people would respond,” said Cory Booker. “I’ve been overwhelmed by the response, and I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who pitched in. On Monday, September 30th, Ms. Williamson will be visiting the Fallon Urban Farm. Her host is Ed Fallon, a former member of the Iowa Legislature and former candidate for Governor and U.S. Congress. In recent years Fallon has dedicated his efforts on educating the American public on the climate crisis through organizing and his radio talk show.

Later in the day, Ms. Williamson will participate in the Caucus for Kids. The event is organized by Every Child Matters, an organization founded in 2001 as a 501(c)(3) non-partisan children’s advocacy organization. Their mission is to make children a national priority.

Ms. Williamson will end her day with a talk at Drake University. There she will talk on the state of her campaign, her education and children’s policies, and her vision for America.
