Largest Independent Educator Union in the Nation Endorses Bernie Sanders for President
CCEA represents 19,000 Nevada educators

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Clark County Education Association (CCEA) announced today their endorsement of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ candidacy for president of the United States. CCEA is the largest educator union in Nevada and the largest independent educator union in the nation, representing 19,000 teachers and other licensed professionals across the Clark County School District (CCSD). CCSD is the fifth largest school district in the nation.

“I thank the Clark County Education Association for their support and look forward to their partnership in transforming our country and defeating the most dangerous president in modern history,” Sanders said. “We’re proud to have teachers as our top donors by occupation because they hold the key to a more prosperous future for younger generations. Together, we will finally give teachers a much-deserved raise, reinvest in public education and create an education system that benefits students no matter their background or socioeconomic status.”

“The CCEA is proud to have endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders for president,” said CCEA President Vikki Courtney. “Senator Sanders has a stellar record of supporting educators. His position on public education issues is second to none. He has always been a champion for educators and working class people. He has our support. He has spent time with our members and has made a firm commitment to advance public education in our country.”

In May 2019, Sanders unveiled his Thurgood Marshall Plan for Public Education, which will reinvest in our nation's schools and modernize our education system.

SOUTH BEND, IN –– Today, Pete for America announced four new ads across Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina ahead of the first caucuses in February.

The four, 30-second ads, set to run across all four states, highlight how Pete will be the president who, on that first day the sun comes up in this country and Donald Trump is no longer President, will work to heal our country’s divides and restore decency and respect to public life.

He will work on the urgent issues that Trump has made worse: getting health care costs down, building an economy that actually values work, tackling climate change, and ending gun violence.

These significant, on-going investments in early states demonstrate our campaign’s momentum heading into Iowa and beyond that first contest. Pete for America was one of the first campaigns to run television ads in Nevada and South Carolina and has already invested $2 million in paid media ahead of the South Carolina primary to continue to introduce voters to Pete in the Palmetto State.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Today, Pete Buttigieg released his first statewide television ad in Nevada. This is the beginning of a significant media buy in the state, which also includes Spanish radio and digital ads.

The new 30-second television spot, “Had To” lays out Pete’s vision for a new approach to politics, and focuses on how, as president, Pete will bring Americans together to tackle the challenges that Washington has ignored.

Pete for America also announced its first Spanish radio and digital ads in Nevada. In “Primer Día Sin Trump,” Pete describes the day after Trump leaves office and vows to be a president that would unify our dangerously divided country, while tackling our nation’s most urgent issues. “Primer Día Sin Trump” will run statewide on Youtube and Spotify, as well as on select radio stations in Las Vegas.

This significant investment in Nevada comes as Pete returns to the state for his eighth trip on Friday, December 20. Momentum for Pete continues to grow in Nevada.
