Seth Moulton to Visit Nevada for Fourth of July

Salem, MA - On Wednesday, July 3rd and Thursday, July 4th, Congressman Seth Moulton will be in Nevada for a series of events with Veterans and grassroots campaigning. Moulton, making his third trip to Nevada, will be a guest speaker at the 2019 Abbinett Awards presented by the Nevada Democratic Veterans and Military Families Caucus on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6pm in Las Vegas.

On Independence Day (Thursday, July 4), Seth will participate in a pancake breakfast at the 71st Annual Boulder City Damboree Celebration at 7am. Afterwards, Seth will march in the Boulder City 4th of July Parade starting at 9am. No Independence Day would be complete without evening fireworks, so Seth will be dropping by the Henderson 4th of July Celebration at 6pm.

Seth will also be meeting with labor leaders throughout his time in the Silver State. The Moulton 2020 campaign is one of just a handful of Presidential campaigns to already have paid staff on the ground in Nevada. Nevada has over 226,000 Veterans, representing 7.2% of the state’s population, giving Seth a strong base of support in his efforts to win the state both in the primary and the general election.

Kamala Harris to Return to Nevada June 14 and 15, 2019 **Updated

On Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, Senator Kamala Harris will return to Nevada to hold campaign events and meet with voters. On Friday, Harris will join striking McDonald’s workers, hold an immigration roundtable, participate in a women’s meet and greet to celebrate the advances made by the 2019 Emerge Nevada class, and then speak at the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. 33rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas.

On Saturday, Harris will hold an organizing rally in North Las Vegas. Members of the public are invited to join the rally and hear the Senator’s vision for Nevada families.

Harris will continue to highlight her proposal to increase the average pay for a Nevada teacher by $15,000 in order to fully close the pay gap between teachers and comparable professionals. She will also discuss her plan to take bold executive actions to combat gun violence and highlight her recent equal pay proposal which would increase the median annual pay for a woman in Nevada by up to $2,704 per year.

Seattle – This week, Washington Governor Jay Inslee will travel to Chicago and Las Vegas, holding events in support of a $15 minimum wage and action on climate change. Inslee’s recently released Evergreen Economy Plan proposed 28 detailed initiatives to support workers and a clean energy economy, including a national $15 per hour minimum wage by 2024.

On Thursday, May 23rd, at 10:45 AM CT, Inslee will travel to Chicago, Illinois, to march with McDonald’s workers striking for higher wages at McDonald’s headquarters. At 11:00 AM CT, Inslee will give remarks in front of the corporate offices in support of local workers striking and the Fight for Fifteen and will share his plan to strengthen workers’ rights, revive unions, and raise the minimum wage. Inslee will be joined by local McDonald’s workers and labor leaders.

Next, Inslee will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, May 24th to join the Sunrise Movement for the second Global Youth Climate Strike. At 11:30 AM PT, Inslee, alongside students striking for climate action, will speak outside the Federal Courthouse about the Trump administration’s dangerous environmental policies and his plans to defeat climate change. Inslee previously spoke at the first Global Youth Climate Strike in March.

Later, at 3 PM PT, Inslee will participate in a roundtable meeting with SEIU workers and leaders to discuss their Fight for Fifteen initiative. Inslee will listen to workers’ experiences, share details of his Evergreen Economy Plan, and discuss his leadership and successful efforts fighting for a higher minimum wage in Washington, which is tied for the highest state minimum wage in America.

Inslee, who is the only presidential candidate who has made defeating climate change and building a clean energy economy the cornerstone of his campaign, has been making stops to speak with voters across the country as part of his “Climate Mission Tour.” He recently announced his “100% Clean Energy for America” and "Evergreen Economy" plans, and since launching his campaign in March, has visited Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, California, New York, and Oregon.
