New York, NY – Today, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. announced the next MAGA Rally featuring President Donald Trump, scheduled in Duluth, Minnesota on Wednesday, June 20 at 6:30 pm CT. This is the second rally that President Trump has held in Minnesota since he first began his race for president in June, 2015. The first rally in the state took place on November 6, 2016.
The President is expected to promote the latest economic news for our surging economy, including record-low unemployment and new trade reforms, and to discuss his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“Today, we are glad to announce that President Trump will appear at the next Make America Great Again rally in Duluth, Minnesota on Wednesday, June 20,” said Michael S. Preya will lead the overall communications efforts, public relations, email, social media, and messaging for the Republican Party of Minnesota.

Background on Resistance Summer:

The Resistance Summer program is a nationwide Democratic Party initiative designed to bolster state parties by investing in local organizing projects over the summer. Minnesota DFL Hires New Political and Organizing Director

[ST. PAUL, MN] – The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party today announced it has hired Alyse Maye Quade, a Minnesota native with extensive political organizing experience, to serve as Political and Organizing Director. Quade’s first day is June 12, 2017. Since the 2016 election there had been a groundswell of support at the grassroots level with groups cropping up to resist President Donald Trump and the Republicans extreme makeover of our democracy.  The newly created Political and Organizing Director at the DFL will work with these emerging groups, as well as traditional progressive allies, to organize, collaborate, and build power together in advance of the critical 2018 elections.

Her political experience includes serving as Deputy Regional Organizing Director for Senator Al Franken’s campaign in 2014, where she led the largest Get Out The Vote Action Center in the state. Born and raised on a farm in Jeffers, Minnesota, Quade studied Political Science and Journalism at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. [ST. PAUL, MN]—Today, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party announced the location and date for its 2018 State Convention. From June 1-3, 2018, Minnesota DFLers will gather in Rochester at the newly remodeled Mayo Civic Center to endorse candidates and conduct official party business.

“The Minnesota DFL has a rich history of investing in our state’s future, defending the civil and human rights of all citizens, and constantly working to move our state forward without leaving anyone behind,” DFL Chair Ken Martin said. “When the DFL convenes in Rochester in June of 2018, we will make critical endorsements that will directly affect the lives of Minnesota’s families.”

During the convention, DFL delegates will vote to endorse candidates for Secretary of State, State Auditor, Attorney General, the next Governor and Lt. Governor of Minnesota, and Senator Amy Klobuchar.

The Republican Party of Minnesota (RPM) announces the new Communications Specialist, Nick Solheim.

"We are pleased to welcome Nick to our team. He brings a passionate work ethic to the office and experience from establishing his own public relations and marketing business," Chair Jennifer Carnahan said. "I am confident Nick will serve the Party well."

Solheim will be replacing Nick Wilson in the Communications Department at the RPM. He will be handling all communications from the Party and arranging all interviews with Chair Carnahan and other Party officers.

RPM Announces New Somali American Affiliate Group

(Minneapolis, Minn)- The Republican Party of Minnesota (RPM) Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan released the following statement regarding RPM’s new Somali American Affiliate group.

“We are pleased to welcome the Somali American Republicans of Minnesota to our Affiliate groups. The Somali community is growing and getting increasingly involved in state politics. I look forward to listening to the community’s thoughts and concerns and including Affiliate leaders in the Party process,” Carnahan said.

The Somali American Republicans of Minnesota Affiliate group (SARM) was approved by the RPM State Central Committee (SCC) at its meeting April 29th. In addition, the other eight operating Affiliate groups were re-approved by the SCC.

The current Affiliates are the SARM,  Asian American Republicans of Minnesota, Minnesota College Republicans, Minnesota Federation of Republican Women, Hispanic Republican Assembly of Minnesota, Minnesota Republican Seniors, Minnesota Young Republicans, Minnesota Organization of Republican Veterans, Republican Liberty Caucus of Minnesota, and the developing Affiliates are in the African American and faith communities.

“I am proud to welcome SARM as our newest Affiliate group,” Republican Party of Minnesota Secretary and Director of Affiliate Outreach Barb Sutter said. “Our Groups do not exist simply for the sake of diversity, but to share and promote our Republican values.  [ST. PAUL, MN] — The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party today announced it has hired Kayla Johnson, a Minnesota native with press secretary experience in Washington, D.C., to serve as Communications Director. Johnson’s first day is May 30, 2017.

 “We are excited to bring Kayla back home to Minnesota,” said DFL Chair Ken Martin. “With political and communications experience on Capitol Hill and across Minnesota, she comes to us well-equipped to help strengthen our party and elect DFLers statewide.  Kayla’s experience will help us expose the stark differences between the political parties in our state and communicate how the DFL is fighting on behalf of all Minnesotans. ”

Johnson currently serves as Press Secretary for Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) in Washington, D.C.  For the three previous years, Kayla served as Deputy Press Secretary and Legislative Correspondent for Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). Her political experience includes serving as a congressional field organizer in Senator Klobuchar’s successful 2012 re-election campaign. While obtaining a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Kayla was Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Cardinal, an independent student-run daily newspaper. A graduate of Minneapolis South High School, Johnson was born and raised in Minneapolis.

RPM Congratulates New Party Chair and Deputy Chairman

The Republican Party of Minnesota held its State Central Committee meeting Saturday and elected Jennifer Carnahan as the new chair of the Party.

"I congratulate Jennifer on her exciting election. She will be a strong and tested leader. And I am confident she will continue our efforts to show that Republican leadership is good for all Minnesotans," Chairman Keith Downey said.

Jennifer will be succeeding outgoing Chairman Keith Downey.

The Republican Party of Minnesota (RPM) State Central Committee elected David Pascoe as deputy chairman Saturday.

"I congratulate Dave on his election as deputy chair. He showed that he is a strong choice for the job during the campaign,"
Chairman Keith Downey said.

Pascoe will be succeeding outgoing Deputy Chairman Chris Fields.
