Senator Gillibrand will be the featured guest at the Iowa 2020 Book Club, where she will discuss her book “Off The Sidelines” and her children’s book “Bold and Brave.” She will also celebrate Capital City Pride in Des Moines and deliver remarks at the Story County Democrats’ annual summer event and the Iowa Democratic Party’s annual Hall of Fame celebration.

Senator Gillibrand Announces First NH Endorsement from NH State Rep Ford

Today, Senator Gillibrand is proud to announce her first New Hampshire endorsement: State Representative Sue Ford. Citing her focus on families, Representative Ford knows that Senator Gillibrand is the best person to take on the greed and corruption that has taken over Washington and stand up for working families. This endorsement comes after Senator Gillibrand introduced her plan to establish a Family Bill of Rights.

State Representative Sue Ford is a four-term State Representative from Grafton and the current Chair of the House Finance Division II Committee. She served as the Grafton County Democratic Committee Chair up until earlier this month, when she decided not to seek re-election, and was also previously the Grassroots Chair for the New Hampshire Democratic Party, where she coordinated with activists across the state to promote Democratic causes and organize actions.

Representative Ford said, “I’m endorsing Senator Gillibrand because she cares for New Hampshire families as if they were her own. I won’t soon forget her first visit to Littleton where she entered the room and immediately chose to talk to a young boy of about 8, and heard from him about what he’s worried about. It says something that she not only acknowledges different voices, but actively seeks them out.”

“Senator Gillibrand will always fight for the silenced, marginalized, or ignored and I know that as President she will amplify those voices as she builds on her record of standing up for what’s right and advocates for the issues that affect our children like education, climate change, and public safety. I’m proud to endorse Senator Gillibrand.”

Representative Ford also released a Medium Post elaborating on her support of Senator Gillibrand.

Tomorrow, Senator Gillibrand will kick off a three-day swing in Iowa by rolling out her 'Family Bill of Rights' with a roundtable discussion in West Des Moines at the new time of 2:30 p.m. She will be joined by Jamie Burch of Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa and Iowa women.

Due to flight issues, Senator Gillibrand is postponing her previous stops in Gowrie and Storm Lake to a later date. Senator Gillibrand will resume her schedule to host public events in Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls, Mason City, Charles City, Cedar Falls, and Waterloo. She will close out the weekend by delivering remarks to Linn County Phoenix Club members in Cedar Rapids.

Senator Gillibrand will return to New Hampshire for a two-day swing on Friday, May 10th through Saturday, May 11th, where she will travel the state to meet and hear from Granite State voters about the issues that matter most to them, before delivering New England College’s commencement address.

This visit marks Senator Gillibrand’s sixth visit to the state of New Hampshire and comes on the heels of her pledge to only nominate judges who will commit to upholding Roe v. Wade. Senator Gillibrand last visited the state on April 26th - April 27th to rave reviews.

Ahead of her fourth trip to Iowa this week, Senator Gillibrand is proud to announce a new endorsement from Kirsten Anderson, a former Iowa Statehouse staffer who sued the state and won after being sexually harassed on the job.

In her fourth trip to Iowa, Senator Gillibrand will hold more than 10 public events with caucus-goers during a three-day swing of the state. During her visit, Senator Gillibrand will hold meet and greets with college students and launch a rural listening tour to hear from Iowa caucus-goers.

Senator Gillibrand will kick off her rural listening tour in southwest Iowa, with stops in Creston, Clarinda, Atlantic, Harlan, Denison and Carroll. She will join caucus-goers to discuss mental health issues, access to affordable college, economic development and revitalizing main streets.

This will be Senator Gillibrand’s inaugural visit to Warren, Union, Page, Cass, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Crawford, and Carroll counties.
