DES MOINES, IA – Presidential candidate John Delaney is making his 26th trip to Iowa this weekend, with public events planned in Calhoun, Buena Vista, Hardin, Dubuque, Scott, and Johnson counties.

The tour includes a conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning Storm Lake Times editor Art Cullen at the Heartland Forum, and the Grand Opening of Delaney’s 7th and 8th Iowa campaign offices. In addition, Delaney will host meet and greets in Calhoun, Hardin, and Johnson counties. Delaney has visited each county at least once already.

Third Congressional District Chair for the Iowa Democratic Party and State Central Committee Member Al Womble is Yang's latest hire for his growing team.

DES MOINES, IOWA — Making waves and drawing crowds in the thousands for rallies across the country, Andrew Yang is staffing up.
Al Womble, the Democratic chairman in Iowa's third congressional district, will serve as Iowa Campaign Chair.

On joining the Yang Gang, Al said: "When my wife and I first met Andrew at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding, I asked her, 'what do you think of Andrew Yang?' She put it best: 'he's the only candidate offering real solutions to the problems working people face.'"

"Andrew has a bold new vision for an economy that puts people first. If we keep going with the same approach, we're going to wind up with the same results. Andrew is a leader who listens to people first and foremost. Some folks are offering to turn the dial up a little; Andrew's turning the volume up to 10 and really making it a party," Womble said.

Boston, MA - Elizabeth Warren will travel to Iowa March 29-30 to attend the Heartland Forum and speak at a rally in Storm Lake. She will also attend meet & greets in Marshalltown and Perry and hold an organizing event with J.D. Scholten and Working Hero Iowa in West Des Moines.

The events will be open to the public and tickets can be reserved using the links below.

So far, Warren has visited Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Decorah, Des Moines, Dubuque, Elkader, Iowa City, Sioux City, Storm Lake and Waterloo.

Heartland Forum set for March 30, 2019 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa

Iowa Farmers Union is hosting the Heartland Forum to bring together leading Democratic presidential contenders to discuss their ideas for solving the range of economic and social challenges facing rural and small-town communities in Iowa and beyond.

“We are glad to have this discussion focused on family farmer and rural Iowa issues,” said Aaron Lehman, Iowa Farmers Union President. “Our members will be anxious to see how candidates connect with voters on issues vitally important to them.”

“Farm income has been dropping for 5 years. According to USDA statistics, the median farmer is losing money again this year. The average age of the Iowa farmer is over 59 years old. Agribusiness consolidation is at an all-time high. Farmers are being called upon to do more and more to help clean up Iowa’s waters. Our challenges are huge.”

“At the same time, farmers continue to find creative and innovative ways to make their farms and communities better places. We hope this event serves as a jumping off point for discussions with presidential candidates about the future of rural America.”

Iowa Farmers Union, Open Markets Institute Action Fund, HuffPost and The Storm Lake Times are sponsors of the event which will be moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning Storm Lake Times columnist and editor Art Cullen and hosted by Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Candidates confirmed so far include Julian Castro (former HUD Secretary), U.S. Rep. John Delaney, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI), Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN), Rep. Tim Ryan (OH) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA). Questions for the candidates will be developed by Farmers Union members.
