DES MOINES – Sen. Bernie Sanders will hold town halls in Nevada, Iowa and Perry, Iowa on Friday ahead of his weekend swing with Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Rep. Tlaib will join Sen. Sanders on Saturday for events in Newton and Davenport. The two will be joined by Bernie 2020 National Co-Chair Rep. Ro Khanna to hold a climate rally in Iowa City on Sunday, January 12.

CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER: Sanders Nevada and Perry Events Today Canceled Due to Winter Storm Warning

DES MOINES – Due to the winter storm warning, the Sanders campaign today canceled Friday's events in Nevada, Iowa and Perry, Iowa.

"Our supporters mean the world to us, so we want everyone to be safe during this upcoming storm," said Misty Rebik. "We're looking forward to tomorrow's events with our guest Rep. Rashida Tlaib."

The events were cancelled as winter storm warnings and advisories were issued for Polk, Story and Warren counties, and Des Moines area schools were let out early. Moderate to heavy snow and ice is expected, with accumulations of 5 to 8 inches and winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

Saturday's events are still on as planned.

WASHINGTON -- Today Bernie Sanders received the endorsement of Jumaane Williams, New York City Public Advocate and a leading progressive voice in New York.

“Jumaane is truly an advocate for the people, and I am proud to receive his endorsement today, “ said Sen. Sanders. “Jumaane and I share a common cause -- to change the systems that make it harder and harder for working families to get by. I am grateful to have the support of my fellow Brooklynite, and the grassroots support of so many New Yorkers.”

Williams is the Public Advocate for the City of New York and previously served as a Council Member for the 45th District in Brooklyn. In a video released today, Williams spoke about the inclusive grassroots movement backing Sanders’ candidacy, as well as Sanders’ consistency and commitment on issues like quality housing, health care, and education.

“It’s critically important to have someone like Bernie Sanders as the next President because we have to have someone who’s not just going to heal and unite, but who is going to change the system that’s in place,” Williams said. “When I first got elected, I made a decision that I didn’t get elected to get re-elected. More than 40,000 New Donors Flood in on Deadline Day 

WASHINGTON – Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign on Thursday announced it raised more than $34.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2019 from more than 1.8 million donations, including contributions from 40,000 new donors that flooded in on the final day of the quarter.

“Bernie Sanders is closing the year with the most donations of any candidate in history at this point in a presidential campaign,” Campaign Manager Faiz Shakir said. “He is proving each and every day that working class Americans are ready and willing to fully fund a campaign that stands up for them and takes on the biggest corporations and the wealthy. You build a grassroots movement to beat Donald Trump and create a political revolution one $18 donation at a time, and that’s exactly why Bernie is going to win.” 

Sanders’ campaign raised more than $18 million from over 900,000 donations in December alone, which is the campaign’s single best fundraising month to date. Nearly 300,000 new donors gave in the fourth quarter.

“Teacher” was the most common occupation of Sanders’fourth quarter donors, the five most common employers were Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, the United States Postal Service and Target, and the average donation was $18.53.

Since the campaign’s February launch, Sanders has raised more than $96 million from over 5 million individual donations for an average contribution of $18 and more than 99.9 percent of donors have not maxed out and can give again. That total does not include an additional $12.7 million in transfers all made in prior quarters from Sanders’ other federal accounts. Sanders’ 2016 campaign did not hit the 5 million donations mark until after Super Tuesday.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign on Friday announced that yesterday it raised more than a million dollars from tens of thousands of contributions – the best single debate day for the campaign all year.

“A lot of candidates on the debate stage last night worked hard to convince voters that our leaders must rely on super PACs funded by the wealthy and gather big checks in wine caves to beat Donald Trump in 2020,” Campaign Manager Faiz Shakir said. “Bernie Sanders is proving them wrong every single day. Working class Americans know Bernie is going to stand with them when he’s in the White House because he always has and they’re saying it loudly by pitching in a few dollars when they can. Refusing to take cash from billionaires and CEOs is a key reason why the senator will earn the trust of voters and generate the enthusiasm needed to win the nomination, sweep Donald Trump out of the White House and create a political revolution to transform our country.”

The fundraising total and number of individual donations yesterday was the highest for Sanders’ campaign during a debate day in 2019, which is just the latest sign of the momentum his campaign is seeing all over the country.

DES MOINES – Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign on Wednesday ahead of the Democratic debate launched a new TV ad in Iowa calling out a corrupt political system that allows billionaires to buy elections and touting Sanders as the only leading candidate funded exclusively by grassroots donations.

The ad features footage of Sanders’ March to End Corporate Greed, which brought over 1,000 supporters together in Des Moines. Sanders’ Iowa polling average is currently at the highest level since May as support continues to expand across the state.

“Billionaires” is Sanders’ seventh ad to run in Iowa, following “Fights For Us,” “Belongs To Us,” “Hope,” “Iowa First,” “Big Us” and “For All.” All seven ads have been produced entirely in-house by Bernie 2020 staff.

CALIFORNIA – Sen. Bernie Sanders will return to California on Monday, December 16
Bernie 2020 has seen an outpouring of support in the Golden State--particularly among young and Latino voters. The California campaign has surpassed 8 million attempted voter contacts, opened five offices, held more than 4,300 events, and more than 760,000 people have taken action with the campaign.
This visit comes on the heels of a UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll that found Sen. Sanders in first place in California with less than three months before the March 3rd primary. This marks Sanders’ seventh trip to California.

Entrance is provided on a first come, first served basis. Parking is extremely limited; attendees are strongly encouraged to walk, bike, carpool or take public transportation. Expect traffic delays. The Uber and Lyft ride share drop-off point is located on Windward Circle and bike parking valet will be located on Market St at Speedway

Metro buses run from L.A. to Venice Beach via the following routes:
Culver City Bus Lines – west on Washington Blvd., north on Pacific to Windward Ave. and Main St.
Santa Monica Big Blue Bus – south on Pacific to Windward Ave.
3 or 333 Metro Bus – Downtown L.A. from Sprint & 6th to Main St. & Grand Ave.
There are 3 major public parking lots by the beach and boardwalk, parking spots can be reserved here:
South City Parking Lot (near Venice Canals, Venice Recreation and Parks/Muscle Beach Gym/Skate Park/courts): 2100 Ocean Front Walk. Venice, Ca 90291. (End of Venice Blvd. approximately 4 miles from the 405 freeway
North City Parking Lot: 300 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, Ca. 90291. (End of Rose Ave)
Washington Blvd. Lot (Near Venice Pier and Washington Square) 3100 Washington Boulevard, Venice, Ca 90291 (By the Venice Pier)
