Minnesota Leaders Applaud Joe Biden’s Selection of Kamala Harris as Running Mate
Today, Joe Biden announced Kamala Harris as his running mate. Leaders from across Minnesota applauded the selection:
"I am filled with joy that Sen. Kamala Harris is our Vice Presidential nominee,” said Senator Amy Klobuchar. “This is a historic moment, and I know that her leadership, experience, and character will help move our country forward when she and Joe Biden take back the White House. Kamala is a good friend and incredibly strong public servant. Sometimes campaigns can tear friendships apart but we grew closer — and I know she has what it takes to lead side-by-side with Joe Biden."
“Kamala Harris is my friend and colleague, and she’s a fighter for the people,” said Senator Tina Smith. “I’m confident that she’ll be a champion for all Americans as our next Vice President. This November, when we elect Joe Biden as President and Kamala Harris as the first woman Vice President, we’ll elect leaders who will fight for Minnesota families and communities across our country.”
“I congratulate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on forming a strong and historic ticket that Democrats can be proud of,” said Attorney General Keith Ellison. “2020 has been a history-making year like few others. Now let's see it all the way through: let's get out there, organize, and energize people to turn out and vote for Joe, Kamala, and DFLers up and down the ticket."
