Tulsi Gabbard to Speak at Martin Luther King Day Events in South Carolina on January 20 2020
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (U.S. Rep, Hawaii) will return to the Palmetto state on Monday to attend South Carolina NAACP’s Annual King Day at the Dome and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration in Florence.
Congresswoman Gabbard has long cited Dr. Martin Luther King as an inspiration, frequently quoting Dr. King’s remarks on visiting Hawaii, “We look to you for inspiration as a noble example, where you have already accomplished in the area of racial harmony and racial justice, what we are struggling to accomplish in other sections of the country, and you can never know what it means to those caught for the moment in the tragic and often dark midnight of man’s inhumanity to man, to come to a place where we see the glowing daybreak of freedom and dignity and racial justice.”
