Joe Biden for President Announces “We Know Joe” Surrogate Bus Tour in Iowa on January 7-13, 2020 *Updated
Top Surrogates, including Secretary John Kerry and Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, to Travel Across Iowa
Today, Biden for President is announcing a week-long “We Know Joe” bus tour from Tuesday, January 7 to Monday, January 13, where top surrogates will campaign on behalf of Joe Biden in 20 counties across Iowa.
The tour will highlight the broad coalition supporting Biden and will feature former Secretary of State John Kerry; Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms of Atlanta; Congressman Ami Bera of California, DCCC Frontline Co-Chair; Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, a former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus; Congressman Lou Correa, a Congressional Hispanic Caucus member; and additional federal and state elected officials from across the country. The group represents Biden's diverse national base of support and will highlight throughout the tour why Biden is uniquely positioned to beat Donald Trump and repair the damage he's done.

During “We Know Joe” community events, the surrogates will touch 20 key counties in Iowa, accounting for more than 60% of the state’s population and spanning six media markets:
• John Kerry, the former Secretary of State who won the Iowa caucus in 2004, will travel across Iowa for the tour and headline events.
• Pennsylvania State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, Tennessee State Sen. Raumesh Akbari, and Florida State Rep. Shevrin Jones, all elected officials under the age of 40, will travel to Sioux City, Missouri Valley, Council Bluffs on Tuesday, January 7. State Reps. Kenyatta and Akbari will travel to Adel and Des Moines on Wednesday, January 8.
• Keisha Lance Bottoms, the Mayor of Atalanta — the ninth largest metro area in the U.S. — and South Carolina State Rep. Marvin Pendarvis will travel to Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City on Friday, January 10.
• Congressional endorsers representing the Tri-Caucus, including former Congressional Black Caucus Chair Emanuel Cleaver II of Missouri, DCCC Frontline Co-Chair Ami Bera of California, and Congressional Hispanic Caucus member Lou Correa, will travel to Muscatine, Davenport, and Clinton on Saturday, January 11 and Dubuque and Dike on Sunday, January 12.
Biden for President has earned more than 1,000 endorsements from national, state, and local leaders, which includes nearly 200 current and former Iowa elected officials, union leaders, teachers, veterans, community leaders, and Democratic Party activists like Iowa Congresswoman Abby Finkeneauer, former Secretary of Agriculture and two-term Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, and former First Lady of Iowa Christie Vilsack. Endorsers become powerful voices in their own communities and beyond, amplifying Biden’s message through local press, recruiting volunteers to phone bank and door knock, and organizing supporters to travel to early and Super Tuesday states.
In addition to its surrogate program, Biden for President has a robust Iowa organizing operation with 28 offices and more than 145 paid staffers on the ground, powering the campaign’s 99-county, 1,678-precinct strategy to win the Iowa caucuses on February 3.
