TeamTom Iowa Announces 50 Staff Across the State
Before the December Democratic debate, Tom Steyer’s Iowa team reaches 50 staff. This a continued show of the team’s momentum going into the final sprint of the caucus.
(Des Moines, IA, Dec. 18) With less than 50 days until the caucus, Tom Steyer’s on-the-ground organization continues to grow. TeamTom Iowa now includes 50 people across the state, all committed to acting urgently on climate, breaking the corporate stranglehold on our government, and getting our democracy to being of, by, and for the people.
This is following a campaign-wide announcement that a voluntary survey showed that more than half of TeamTom is a person of color, more than half identify as female, and thirty percent identify as a part of the LGBTQ community.
Last week for the TeamTom Iowa Weekend of Action the team knocked on over 6,000 doors in two days. This is just a part of how the campaign is connecting to voters and sharing Tom Steyer’s vision for the country. Iowa State Director Michael Edwards stated:
“Our team has done an incredible job connecting to voters and we see that reflected every week as we increase in the Morning Consult early state tracker. On caucus night, all the energized volunteers and committed precinct captains that our team has connected with are going to turn out and show how strong Tom’s message is in Iowa.”
