Marianne Williamson to Give Keynote at the 2019 Presidential Forum on Environmental Justice
Orangeburg, SC – Democratic Presidential Candidate, best selling author, and activist, Marianne Williamson will be a Keynote Speaker at the 2019 Presidential Forum on Environmental Justice: “Moving Vulnerable Communities from Surviving to Thriving” hosted by the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) along with some two dozen national and local organizations.
The event will be held on Friday, November 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium, South Carolina State University, 300 College Street Northeast, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
The forum, hosted by leaders from frontline and tribal communities - including civil rights, youth, and environmental organizations, will offer voters an opportunity to learn how presidential hopefuls intend to manage the impacts of climate change on underserved, vulnerable communities.
Ms. Williamson states, “We need policy change but we need more than that; we need a full-on systems change. We need to change the way we think about what's most important in life. We need to put the health and well-being of our people and our planet before the needs of an outmoded economic system. We must transition from a dirty economy to a clean economy. Period. Full stop.”
