Sen. Bernie Sanders Returns to Columbia
Sanders to host event focusing on strength with younger voters
COLUMBIA, SC – Sen. Bernie Sanders will kick off December by returning to the Palmetto State on Sunday, December 1, to host an afternoon event focused on younger voters.
“Eat and Greet: Community Conversation with Bernie Sanders” will be a town hall-style event designed to engage younger voters and empower them not only to vote in the upcoming South Carolina Democratic Primary, but to become a force for change in their own communities.
“Too often voters of my generation and younger are underestimated and taken for granted,” said Bernie 2020 SC State Director Jessica Bright. “Sen. Sanders is different. Whether it’s investing in HBCU’s, canceling college debt or reforming our criminal justice system, he is speaking directly to young voters in South Carolina and across the nation.”
“He is already incredibly popular in our community. Now it’s time to take that popularity and turn it into new activity.”
In addition to hosting this event, Sen. Sanders will be attending Reid Chapel AME Church Sunday morning.
