Kamala Harris Campaign to Open Burlington Field Office and Host Debate Watch Party

On Tuesday, October 15, the night of the fourth Democratic debate, Senator Kamala Harris’ campaign will celebrate the opening of its office in Burlington by welcoming local volunteers, supporters, and members of the community for an open house and debate watch party. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet their local organizers, other Harris supporters, and cheer Harris on during the debate.

The office is one of 10 additional offices the campaign is opening across Iowa. The campaign has also announced that it will be growing its operation by adding 60 new organizers, and that Harris will be campaigning in Iowa every week in October.

The office will be a hub for campaign activity in the Burlington area, and is a space where volunteers can make phone calls, learn more about Harris, join canvass launches and meet other Harris supporters. The presence of local offices is just one more way the Harris campaign continues to meet people where they are and organize in every county and precinct across Iowa.

Sen. Bernie Sanders Discharged from Hospital

LAS VEGAS – Statement from Sen. Bernie Sanders upon discharge from the Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center:

“I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center for the excellent care that they provided. After two and a half days in the hospital, I feel great, and after taking a short time off, I look forward to getting back to work.”

Please find below a statement from Sen. Sanders’ treating physicians Arturo E. Marchand Jr., MD and Arjun Gururaj, MD:

“After presenting to an outside facility with chest pain, Sen. Sanders was diagnosed with a myocardial infarction. He was immediately transferred to Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center.

“The Senator was stable upon arrival and taken immediately to the cardiac catheterization laboratory, at which time two stents were placed in a blocked coronary artery in a timely fashion. All other arteries were normal.

“His hospital course was uneventful with good expected progress. He was discharged with instructions to follow up with his personal physician.”

Ahead of the fourth Democratic Debate, Senator Kamala Harris will return to Iowa on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13.

On Saturday, Harris will host a block party with Urban Dreams, an organization that works to break down barriers in underserved and underrepresented communities of Des Moines. On Sunday, Harris will gather with labor leaders and members at the UFCW 2020 Presidential Candidate Forum in Altoona.

Bullock for President Raises Nearly $2.3 Million in Third Quarter

Individual Contributions Doubled, with 97% of Donations Under $200

Helena, MT – Bullock for President today released its third quarter fundraising numbers. The campaign raised nearly $2.3 million over the quarter, improving on its second quarter haul and doubling its number of individual contributions — 97% of which were under $200. Donations came from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and four U.S. Territories. Once public matching funds kick in, all individual contributions will by matched up to $250 in aggregate per donor.

“Our growing grassroots support helps us build a robust campaign to compete in early states like Iowa and beyond,” said Bullock for President Campaign Manager Jenn Ridder. “With a doubling of our individual contributions — and an average online contribution of just $24 — it’s clear that Governor Bullock’s message of progressive reform is resonating with grassroots supporters across the country. Donald Trump 2020 TV Ad “Changing Things”

Trump Campaign Ad: Trump is Draining the Swamp & the Swamp is Fighting Back

President Trump’s re-election campaign today launched a new television ad blasting Democrats for their obsession with impeaching the President. The spot titled “Changing Things” notes that the President has a tremendous record of success in draining the swamp of Washington, DC, but that the swamp is trying to fight back. The ad notes that the Democrats cannot hope to defeat President Trump in 2020 so they are attempting to remove him from office instead.

The spot will be mixed into an existing $8 million ad buy the campaign previously announced. Combined with a separate $2 million buy made by the Republican National Committee with different ads, the total buy is $10 million.
