Michael Bennet to Address Liberty and Justice Dinner, Discuss Climate Plan in Southwest Iowa
DENVER — Michael Bennet will return to Iowa next weekend to address caucusgoers at the Iowa Democratic Party Liberty and Justice dinner, participate in a town hall hosted by The Recount’s John Heilemann, and visit two more counties that voted twice for Barack Obama and then for Donald Trump. He will draw on his ten years of service on the Senate Agriculture Committee and his field-leading climate plan — the first to put farmers front and center in the fight against climate change — in his visit to Union County, which sustained $1.7 million in flood damages this spring alone.
Bennet, whose home state of Colorado is an even mix of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, has focused his efforts on winning back voters who left the Democratic Party in 2016 and who are critical for taking the White House and Senate and holding the House in 2020.
