Julián Castro to Participate in SEIU Unions For All Summit on Friday, October 4, 2019

SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 2, 2019) – On Friday, October 4, presidential candidate and former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julián Castro, will participate in the SEIU Unions for All Summit.

Secretary Castro’s appearance follows the release of his Workers First labor platform, the furthest proposal to empower workers. The platform includes support for unions for all, justice for farmworkers, dignity for domestic workers and a 21st Century safety net for working families.

Secretary Castro has stood on the frontlines with union members including the Stop & Shop strike, Fight for $15 rally and with SEIU President Mary Kay Henry to protest inhumane conditions at a Houston child migrant detention center.
