Secretary Julián Castro Returns to South Carolina for Second Step Presidential Justice Forum, to Meet with #BlackGirlMagic
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 25, 2019) – Presidential candidate and former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julián Castro, will return to South Carolina on Sunday for the Second Step Presidential Justice Forum, a meet-and-greet with #BlackGirlMagic and conversation on maternal death in black women.
Secretary Castro will speak at the Second Step Presidential Justice Forum following the release this week of his First Chance Plan to overhaul the criminal justice system.
After meeting with Black Women 2020, Secretary Castro will join Dr. Kari-Claudia Allen for a conversation with medical health care professionals and other community leaders to discuss how to address and prevent health disparities causing maternal death in black women.
