Kamala Harris to Return to Iowa With Visits to Iowans’ Homes, Retail Stops and Town Halls
Senator Kamala Harris will return to Iowa on Sunday, October 6, for a three-day campaign swing where she will engage voters personally at school visits, small businesses, Moms Demand Action gatherings, around people’s kitchen tables, and at town hall meetings. In these stops, she will hear directly from Iowans about their experiences and the issues that matter most to them in this election. These personal interactions continue to shape Harris’ campaign, as she outlines ideas to take direct actions that benefit people’s lives.
Harris often says that, to bring our party and country together and win, we have to focus on the common issues that keep people up at night - the “3AM issues” that all Americans face, no matter where they live or what they look like. Throughout her visits to Iowa this month, she’ll continue listening to Iowans’ personal stories and sharing her vision for how to help them, on everything from gun violence to health care costs to paying the bills each month.
On Sunday, October 6, Harris will hold a town hall at Iowa State University in Ames, and on Monday, October 7, Harris will hold a town hall in Ankeny. But during the day on Monday and Tuesday, Harris will join a kindergarten classroom at King Elementary School in Des Moines, hang out in the teacher break room and talk with teachers as they shift between lunch periods, join a group of Ames moms before they gather for their Moms Demand Action meeting, gather together a group of Women for Kamala Captains who will serve as our precinct level leadership for a strategy session, and visit Des Moines-area small businesses.
