Beto Returns to Iowa Following Standout Debate Performance
Trip includes Polk County Steak Fry, IPTV Town Hall, East Waterloo Visit
DES MOINES, IA — Following a standout debate performance that drew widespread praise, Beto is returning to Iowa for the Polk County Democrats Steak Fry. On Saturday morning, Beto will host a Pre-Steak Fry rally and parade with supporters in Water Works Park in Des Moines. He is the first Presidential candidate to speak, and later in the evening, he will join David Yepsen for a town hall conversation at Des Moines Area Community College. On Sunday he will visit East Waterloo with local elected officials and community leaders.
He recently announced a sweeping plan to legalize marijuana, end the War on Drugs, and begin to repair the damage it has done to communities of color by ensuring those most impacted can benefit from a legal marijuana economy. During his last Iowa visit, Beto held immigration and gun violence round table discussions, a town hall, and was the first candidate to knock doors in Des Moines’ River Bend neighborhood since Jimmy Carter. He additionally announced a ‘21st Century Labor Contract’ to expand workers’ rights and reverse the damage Donald Trump and his administration has inflicted on American workers and families.
