Beto O'Rourke Announces Return to California with Stops in Los Angeles and Bay Area
During the three-day trip, Beto will visit Skid Row and San Quentin State Prison
Following a standout debate performance that drew widespread praise, Beto will arrive in California on Tuesday for a three-day visit. He’ll kick off the trip with a visit to Skid Row in Los Angeles-an area with one of the largest populations of people experiencing homelessness in the United States. Following the visit, Beto will join an equity and justice roundtable with Equity First Alliance and Cage-Free Cannabis-organizations focused on repairing the harms of the War on Drugs.
Beto will become one of the first 2020 presidential candidates to visit a prison on Wednesday when he tours the San Quentin State Prison and meet with inmates nearing the end of their sentences. On Thursday, Beto will join a second roundtable discussion on equity and justice in Oakland.
This will be Beto’s fourth trip to the Golden State as a presidential candidate. He was scheduled to visit California in early August but cancelled the trip following the mass shooting in his hometown of El Paso.
