ANDREW YANG SLATED TO VISIT NEVADA OCT. 2-3
LAS VEGAS — Next week, presidential candidate Andrew Yang will visit Nevada to participate in the Gabrielle Giffords and March for Our Lives Presidential Gun Forum and kick off canvassing efforts at the campaign's Las Vegas office.
Yang was ranked 4th among all Democratic candidates at 8% in the most recent Emerson national poll, and he reached 3% in Nevada in the latest Suffolk University/USA Today poll.
As momentum for the campaign continues to build nationwide, the Nevada team plans to triple its staff size in the next month. Doors opened at the Las Vegas office on Sept. 13, and a Reno office is on the horizon.
"Nevada matters. It's an incredibly diverse state and our electorate is similar to the national electorate," said Mark Peckham, Nevada State Director.
"This is why our campaign has hit the ground running in Nevada. We're activating our many passionate local supporters and laying the groundwork to win in February."
Yang's message is particularly relevant to the state of Nevada, which is expected to be severely impacted by job automation. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is already affecting jobs in hospitality and tourism, Nevada's largest industry, and according to this study, 3 out of 5 jobs in retail, gaming, and hospitality are in danger.
More information regarding Yang's Nevada campaign stops will be released in the coming days.
