Jay Inslee for America Reaches 115k Unique Donors Campaign has received over 36,000 donations since Governor Inslee’s debate appearance last week
Seattle, WA – Today, Inslee for America announced that the campaign has reached their 115,000th unique donor, putting the campaign just 15,000 donors away from reaching the 130,000-donor threshold for the third round of Democratic debates.
New donors have lined up behind Governor Jay Inslee following his highly praised debate performance last week. The campaign has added over 36,000 new donations in just over 8 days.
“Grassroots Democrats want to hear a full discussion of the existential threat of climate change,” said Aisling Kerins, Inslee for America campaign manager. “That’s why Jay Inslee’s campaign is gaining momentum with more than 36,000 new donations in the past week. Governor Inslee is now fewer than 15,000 donors from hitting 130,000. This is a clear sign of the power of the grassroots movement for climate action.”

Gillibrand launches $1M+ TV and digital ad campaign, on heels of standout debate in Detroit
30-second “Imagine” spot will air on Iowa and New Hampshire TV and digital
“Imagine a leader driven by compassion, brave enough to take on the impossible.”
Today, the Gillibrand presidential campaign launched a powerful new 30-second ad, “Imagine,” highlighting Kirsten Gillibrand’s strong progressive priorities and values. The over $1 million ad buy will run statewide in both Iowa and New Hampshire on broadcast and cable TV and digital, starting as early as Saturday, August 10, 2019.
The ad describes the progressive values central to Kirsten Gillibrand’s campaign—compassion, humanity and the courage to take on the impossible—while also featuring her key policy priorities, including health care for everyone, protecting the environment, keeping our children safe and getting money out of politics.
“My promise to the American people is that I will restore compassion, courage and humanity to the White House,” said Kirsten Gillibrand. “Despite what we feel today, it's not impossible to have affordable health care for all, to protect our environment, to keep our kids safe and to root out the corrupting influence of money in our politics. As our campaign gains momentum, I’m excited to share my message with Iowa caucus-goers and New Hampshire voters.”
The ad campaign builds on Gillibrand’s momentum following a standout performance in the second debate in Detroit. The 24 hours following the debate were Gillibrand’s strongest of the campaign in terms of new online donors and contributions. In the week following the debate, Gillibrand earned her first qualifying poll for the September debate and crossed the important 100,000 donor benchmark. The ad buy will bolster the campaign’s efforts to qualify for the fall debates.
The campaign has invested significantly in Iowa and New Hampshire, with 35 and 20 staff respectively.
Transcript of “Imagine”:
Narrator: Imagine an America where harmony displaces hate.
That protects our planet, provides healthcare for everyone.
An America where public places are safe spaces.
Where morality overrides money. Power restored to the people.
Imagine a leader driven by compassion, brave enough to take on the impossible.
Who looks beyond herself to do what’s best…for us.
Kirsten: I’m Kirsten Gillibrand, and I approve this message.

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ANDREW YANG VISITS IOWA STATE FAIR
DES MOINES, Iowa — Today, Andrew Yang visited the popular Iowa State Fair, participating in the Des Moines Register Political Soapbox and introducing Iowa voters to his plan to build-up working class Americans during the wake of job automation and a massive shift in our economy.
Yang highlighted that American jobs have already been impacted by job automation and shared how it will impact Iowans specifically. He noted that this "fourth industrial revolution" is not solely about manufacturing jobs or Amazon and that America must prepare for self-driving cars and trucks.
"Think about what that's going to mean here in Iowa. I was just at Iowa 80, the country's largest truck stop. Five thousand people stop there every day. What's going to happen in 5-10 years when the trucks start driving themselves?" Yang said.
Yang focused on his proposed Freedom Dividend as a solution to the job loss occurring across the country. He drew upon the proposal's similarity to Alaska's form of universal basic income, the Alaska Permanent Fund, which is funded by the state's oil revenue. Calling technology the "oil of the 21st century," Yang referred to his Freedom Dividend as the "tech check."
"Amazon's paying zero in taxes. Google, Facebook, Uber — all of these mega-tech companies are investing billions in AI, and how much of that are you going to see? Zero. That's what we have to change. We have to make our economy work for us, the owners and shareholders of this country. This is a vision for a trickle-up economy," Yang said.
Yang will spend the weekend in Iowa, attending the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding and speaking with Iowa voters at the Iowa State Fair.
