Kamala Harris to Return to New Hampshire September 6 and 7 **Updated

Senator Kamala Harris will return to New Hampshire on September 6 and 7. On September 6, Harris will hold a town hall in Londonderry in the afternoon and headline the Portsmouth Democratic Committee's annual banquet in the evening. The Portsmouth Democrats, one of the largest municipal Democratic committees in the state, voted for Harris to be their speaker by a 2:1 margin and sold out this year’s banquet in record time.

On September 7, Harris will attend a veterans forum sponsored by VoteVets and the NDHP, hold a meet and greet with campaign volunteers, and speak at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s state convention. Her approximate convention speaking time is 11:25 AM ET.

This visit will present another opportunity for New Hampshire residents to hear directly from Harris about her vision for America and ask her questions about the issues keeping them up at night.

Since announcing her campaign, Harris has traveled throughout the Granite State, visiting Somersworth, Gilford, Tilton, Portsmouth, Manchester, Concord, Keene, Hanover, Nashua, and Claremont. In the week leading up to her visit, Harris received numerous endorsements from key Granite State leaders, including the Co-Chair and Secretary of the NHDP African American Caucus.

ANDREW YANG ANNOUNCES VISIT TO NEW HAMPSHIRE, GRAND OPENING OF TWO CAMPAIGN OFFICES

CONCORD, N.H. — Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang will visit New Hampshire Friday, Aug. 16 through Sunday, Aug. 18, attending various campaign and community events, including the grand opening of two new campaign offices in New Hampshire.
On Friday, Yang will participate in "Civil Liberties and the Presidency," a candidate series hosted by the ACLU of New Hampshire and The Warren B. Rudman Center at UNH School of Law. Following the series, Yang will attend a Meet and Greet at the Plaistow Public Library.

Yang will kick-off Saturday with campaign volunteers at a canvass launch at the brand new Nashua campaign office. Following this morning event, Yang will attend two Meet and Greets, hosted by the Londonderry Democrats and the New Durham Democrats, and speak with local voters at a house party in New Hampton.

On Sunday, Aug. 18., Yang will attend the Hillsborough County Dems Picnic, the Epping and Raymond Democrats Summer BBQ, and round out the day with a visit to the grand opening of the Portsmouth campaign office.

"The opening of these two offices is a testament to the increased support from donors and volunteers alike. DES MOINES, IA — Today, Mayor Pete Buttigieg announced an ambitious new plan to significantly grow and empower rural communities to lead the way in addressing America’s most urgent challenges. Pete will roll this policy out on a two-day, seven county swing through Southeast Iowa.

Rural America provides the majority of domestic food and energy, but too often our government treats it as an afterthought, resulting in farm incomes plummeting, young people leaving for cities, and a growing disparity of life expectancy in rural areas. To address these pressing challenges, Pete’s plan focuses on real solutions and taps into the potential of rural America with forward-looking proposals to grow jobs through Regional Innovation Clusters and manufacturing partnerships, guarantee Internet for All, address monopolies in agriculture, invest in education, and empower rural communities to lead the way on solving climate disruption.

Doubles apprenticeships and expand access to other “earn-and-learn” opportunities. Reduces the teacher shortage in rural areas by 50% within 15 years.
Provides free public college tuition for low- and middle-income students and supports satellite hubs for colleges.
Invests $25 billion in HBCUs and other Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), including Tribal Colleges and Universities.

• Empower rural America to combat the climate change crisis
Invests nearly $50 billion over a decade on innovative research.
Pays farmers for conservation efforts.
Establishes next-generation Resilience Hubs to share climate resilience data and tools.

• Guarantee Internet for All

• Restore balance for family farms and with investments in anti-trust enforcement
Doubles funding for antitrust enforcement and halve the reporting threshold.

Just five weeks after announcing his candidacy, Steyer surpasses the DNC donor threshold and is only one qualifying poll away from September debate stage in Houston

(SAN FRANCISCO, August 13, 2019) — Today, candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination Tom Steyer hit the 130,000 individual donor threshold required to reach the Democratic National Committee September debate stage. Steyer met the donor requirement within just five weeks of entering the race, averaging over 26,000 donors a week. 

“Since entering the race five weeks ago, our priority has been getting Tom’s message out to the American people,” said Campaign Manager Heather Hargreaves. “Tom reaching this milestone just five weeks into his campaign is proof that his message is resonating with people across the country.” 

As the American people learn more about Tom, support for his campaign has rapidly increased, including gaining over 48,800 donors in the last week alone. The campaign has invested in a strong digital program to reach voters, and the strategy is working. 

Steyer is now just one qualifying poll away from making it onto the September DNC debate stage in Houston, TX. In only a few weeks, Steyer has surpassed candidates who have been in the race much longer, in polling from Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina. Steyer has been steadily gaining traction in early primary states, as indicated by three qualifying polls in Iowa and South Carolina, the most recent of which, from Monmouth University, had the candidate polling at 3%. Other non-DNC sanctioned polls show Steyer joining the top tier of Democratic contenders. Last week, Morning Consult had Steyer polling at 6% in early states, beating Pete Buttigieg and within striking distance of Kamala Harris. A new Change Research Poll has Steyer at 3% in Nevada, besting Beto O’Rourke.

On the heels of her 5-day river-to-river bus tour, the Iowa Asian and Latino Coalition announced their endorsement of Kamala Harris for President. The coalition is a key organizing body in the Iowa caucuses, holding events for candidates and members of the public. The coalition spent the last year meeting with more than a dozen candidates and voted Monday night to support Harris, saying: “The Asian and Latino Coalition officially endorses Senator Kamala Harris.”

Coalition Chair Prakash Kopparapu said, “She has the strength and the personality to take on Donald Trump on the debate stage.”

In response, Harris said: “I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Asian and Latino Coalition. During this campaign I’ve been lucky to have the chance to spend time with leadership and get to know members of the coalition. HONOLULU, Hawaii — U.S. Congresswoman and Army Major Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) leaves the campaign trail today for two weeks of active duty training to fulfill her National Guard obligation. She will resume her campaign activities on August 25th.

Rep. Gabbard has served as a soldier in the Army National Guard for more than 16 years, and deployed twice to the Middle East — in Iraq from 2004-2006 in a field medical unit and in Kuwait from 2008-2009 where she led her platoon in conducting security operations and training of the Kuwait Army’s counter-terrorism team. She is in her fourth term and seventh year in Congress, where she has served as a member of the House Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Homeland Security Committees.

“I love our country. I am grateful to be able to serve our country and the American people in many ways, including as a soldier," Gabbard said. "And so, while some people are telling me, ‘Gosh, this is a terrible time to leave the campaign. Can't you find a way out of it?’ That’s not what this is about. I look forward to joining my fellow soldiers for a joint-training exercise with the Indonesian military, focused on counterterrorism and disaster response.”

Rep. Gabbard has previously participated in joint military training exercises in countries such as Indonesia and Japan.
