Beto O’Rourke Announces Return to Iowa This Week *Updated
Trip Includes a Conversation on Standing Up to Trump, Immigration and Gun Violence Round Table Discussions
DES MOINES, IA — Beto O’Rourke will return to Iowa this week for his first trip back to Iowa following the act of terror in El Paso that claimed the lives of twenty-two victims. This evening he will host an event called “An Iowa Conversation: Standing Up to Trump” in Des Moines. On Wednesday he will meet with Latino and community leaders in Marshalltown for a discussion on that city’s success in welcoming immigrants and a tour of the Iowa Valley Community College Education and Training Center. On Thursday he will host a gun violence round table discussion.
Beto returned to the campaign trail on Thursday after spending nearly two weeks in his home community of El Paso following the act of terror that claimed the lives of twenty-two residents.This trip follows Beto’s visits to Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. On the trail, Beto will continue speaking out and advocating for immediate action to end the culture of hate and violence in our country.
