Julián Castro Returns to New Hampshire Following First Democratic Debates
Makes fifth trip to first-in the-nation primary state July 18-19
SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 16, 2019) – On Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19, presidential candidate and former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary under President Obama and San Antonio Mayor, Julián Castro, will travel to New Hampshire, his fifth trip to the first-in-the-nation primary state since launching his candidacy for president in January, and his first trip since his strong Democratic primary debate performance. This trip also follows news that the campaign had reached the 130,000 unique donor threshold, one of two requirements to qualify for the third and fourth Democratic debates.
On Thursday, July 18, Secretary Castro will start his trip with a conversation around his housing platform at Cross Roads House in Portsmouth. He will then speak to the New Hampshire High School Democrats and travel to Nashua for a community town hall. New events have been added on Friday, July 19, when Secretary Castro will meet with faith leaders and activists about immigration, and join in a protest against the migrant detention centers along the southern U.S. border. Additionally, on Friday, he will participate in a meet-and-greet in Concord at Gibson’s Bookstore. In Cornish, Secretary Castro will discuss his positive vision for our nation and answer questions from residents at the home of former State Senator and House Democratic Leader, Peter Burling.
