Cory Booker Makes His 7th Visit To South Carolina on Saturday, June 15, 2019 *Updated
Columbia, SC - This weekend, Cory Booker will make his 7th trip to South Carolina. The Senator will take the stage in Charleston to participate in the Black Economic Alliance Presidential Forum. The mission of the Black Economic Alliance is to advance an economic agenda focused on improving economic outcomes in three core areas: work, wages and wealth.
Booker will discuss tearing down the barriers standing in the way of opportunity and entrepreneurship in black America and focus on specific ideas to close the racial wealth gap, expanding access to capital investment in every community and accelerating African-American small business and growth.
The Presidential Forum will take place on Saturday, June 15th from 12:00 PM ET to 4:00 PM ET at The Charleston Music Hall.
During the trip Cory will also lend his voice to the Fight for $15 March and Rally, joining workers at a local McDonald's in support of their effort to organize labor and raise the minimum wage to $15. The event will take place at 10 AM at the McDonald's restaurant located at 1080 Savannah Hwy in the West Ashley area of Charleston. Senator Booker is scheduled to speak at 10:05 AM ET.
Finally, in support of minority-owned businesses, Cory will visit two Charleston small businesses, Dellz Uptown Vegan Restaurant at 4:15 PM ET and Tasty Thai Restaurant at 5:15 PM ET.
