Jay Inslee to Join Forum on Immigration, Address California Democratic Party State Convention Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, 2019
Seattle – This Friday, Washington Governor Jay Inslee will return to Los Angeles and San Francisco, California to participate in a forum on immigration with impacted individuals and to speak at the California Democratic Convention.
On Friday, May 31st, at 4:15 PM PT in Pasadena, Inslee will participate in the Unity and Freedom Presidential Forum on immigration policy hosted by members of CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles), Community Change Action, and FIRM Action. Inslee will take questions from impacted community members on America’s current immigration policy, the impact of climate change on refugees, and his plans to reform the country’s immigration system.
Next, on Saturday, June 1st, Inslee will address the California Democratic Party State Convention in San Francisco at 2:50 PM PT. Inslee will share his vision for clean energy future and highlight the peril and promise of climate change he's observed in California, including touring the remains of the Woolsey Fire, viewing a San Francisco home retrofitted with solar panels, visiting the LA Clean Tech Incubator, and announcing his 100% Clean Energy for America plan from the LA Department of Transportation's new electric bus depot.
Inslee, who is the only presidential candidate who has made defeating climate change and building a clean energy economy the cornerstone of his campaign, has been making stops to speak with voters across the country as part of his “Climate Mission Tour.” He recently announced his “100% Clean Energy for America” and "Evergreen Economy" plans, and since launching his campaign in March, has visited Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, California, New York, Illinois, and Oregon.
