FRIENDSHIP HEIGHTS, MD – Presidential candidate John Delaney will address the National Action Network's annual convention tomorrow New York City. The National Action Network is one of the leading civil rights organizations in the United States, with chapters throughout the country. Founded in 1991 by Reverend Al Sharpton, the National Action Network works within the spirit and tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to promote a modern civil rights agenda that includes the fight for one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, criminal record, economic status, gender, gender expression, or sexuality.
The Delaney campaign releases the following statement:
“Al Sharpton, the founder of the National Action Network, has lived his life in pursuit of civil rights and economic justice. Congressman Delaney firmly believes that we need to create a more just and fair country for all Americans. That begins by putting forth real and actionable plans that tackle issues such as opportunity inequality, reforming our criminal justice system, and addressing the structural unfairness that exists in our tax, educational, healthcare, and environmental systems. Congressman Delaney looks forward to addressing the convention tomorrow.”
