Julián Castro to Deliver Remarks at Wisconsin Democrats Founders’ Day Dinner
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 3, 2019) – On Saturday, April 13, 2019, presidential candidate and former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary under President Obama and San Antonio Mayor, Julián Castro, will deliver remarks at the Democratic Party of Wisconsin's Founders’ Day Gala Dinner in Milwaukee. In Milwaukee, Secretary Castro will outline his vision for a more inclusive and prosperous nation, one where every American can live up to their potential.
On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Secretary Castro became the first 2020 Democratic candidate to unveil an immigration policy. The ‘People First Immigration’ policy, released via Medium, would overhaul our immigration system, create a more just and compassionate border policy, and establish a 21st century Marshall Plan for Central America to re-engage our Latin American partners and address the root causes of migration. Following his participation in the Wisconsin Democrats’ Gala, Secretary Castro will travel to Iowa on Sunday, April 14, to make his third trip to the state since announcing his candidacy in January (details forthcoming).
