Jay Inslee to Visit LA Cleantech Incubator
Inslee will listen to LACI business leaders’ ideas as he prepares to release climate change plan
Seattle - Washington Governor Jay Inslee will continue his “Climate Mission Tour” with a visit to the LA Cleantech Incubator (LACI) in Los Angeles, California.
TOMORROW, Thursday, April 18th, Inslee will tour LACI at 10:15AM PT in Los Angeles, California. Inslee will be led on the tour by LACI CEO Matt Petersen, where he’ll visit the LACI’s Training Center and their Smart Grid R&D Center.
Following the tour, Inslee will participate in a roundtable discussion with a group of clean energy CEOs to get their ideas on how the federal government can build an economy run on 100% clean energy and create millions of jobs, as well as discuss their work and the future of clean energy technology.
LACI is a collaborative non-profit and green technology incubator that works with startups and small businesses to build an inclusive, green economy. Ranked one of the top ten business incubators in the world, LACI’s companies have created more than 1,700 local jobs. By focusing on technology innovation, partnerships, and workforce development, LACI seeks to promote zero emission transportation, 100% clean energy, and smart, sustainable cities.
In his last visit to Southern California, Inslee viewed the remains of the Seminole Springs mobile home community that was devastated by November’s Woolsey wildfire, demonstrating the peril of climate change intensified natural disasters. On this trip, Inslee will listen to LACI business leaders’ ideas and look for takeaways from their successes as he prepares to release a plan on how we can defeat climate change in the coming weeks.
Inslee, who is the only presidential candidate who has made defeating climate change and building a clean energy economy the cornerstone of his campaign, has been making stops to speak with voters across the country as part of his “Climate Mission Tour.” Since launching his campaign in March, he has visited Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, California, New York, and Oregon.
