Beto O'Rourke Set to Become First Democratic Presidential Candidate to Visit Virginia on April 16-17, 2019
Beto O'Rourke will visit Virginia on Tuesday and Wednesday for his first trip to the state since announcing his candidacy for President of the United States less than a month ago. O'Rourke will be the first declared Democratic presidential candidate to visit Virginia. His trip will include hosting meet and greets, town halls and other grassroots events in Norfolk, Hampton, Williamsburg, Henrico, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Alexandria and Prince William and Fairfax Counties.
Since launching his bid for the presidency last month, O'Rourke has held more than 80 events with voters in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, New York and the District of Columbia. Prior to visiting Virginia, he will be in North Carolina on Monday for various public events. Beto officially kicked off his campaign with rallies in El Paso, Houston and Austin, Texas on March 30 that were attended by tens of thousands of supporters in person, as well as countless voters across the nation via livestream and television. Supporters also held more than one thousand organizing watch parties across all fifty states to celebrate the official launch.
