Beto O'Rourke Returns for Three Days of Grassroots Events Across the State **Updated
Beto O'Rourke will return to South Carolina on Friday for his second trip to the state since announcing his candidacy for President of the United States less than a month ago. His three-day drive through the Palmetto State will include events in Charleston, Clemson, Denmark, Beaufort and other communities.
The visit follows a four-day drive across Iowa -- also the second of his presidential campaign -- comprised of nearly two dozen town halls and meet and greets with local residents in ten communities, including the campuses of Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, Morningside College, Grinnell College and Central Iowa Community College.
O’Rourke first visited South Carolina in March when he held public town halls in Rock Hill, Columbia, Orangeburg and Charleston.
Since launching his bid for the presidency last month, O'Rourke has held events in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, New York and the District of Columbia. On March 30, Beto officially launched his campaign with rallies in El Paso, Houston and Austin, Texas that were attended by tens of thousands of supporters in person, as well as countless voters across the nation via livestream and television. Supporters also held more than one thousand organizing watch parties across all fifty states to celebrate the official launch.
