ORP Statement Announcing the Hire of Communications Director and Political Director
Columbus, OH - Today, the Ohio Republican Party announced the hiring of Evan Machan as Communications Director, and the promotion of Cameron Sagester from Deputy Political Director to Political Director.
“We are excited to announce the addition of Evan Machan to our team and the promotion of Cameron Sagester,” said Chairman Timken. “As we look toward 2020 and re-electing President Trump, it is important that we bring the best team together to advance the party's message of pro-growth and pro-job policies that benefit everyday Ohioans.”
Evan Machan most recently managed the U.S. Senate campaign in New Mexico, where he successfully navigated a first-time candidate through the primary process. He has previously worked on the presidential campaigns of Governor Jeb Bush and Governor Mitt Romney. Prior to his time on Governor Jeb Bush’s campaign, he was the political director for State Treasurer Josh Mandel’s re-election campaign. Evan also has experience working in state government and for a local communications firm.
Cameron Sagester joined the Ohio Republican Party as Deputy Political Director in January 2018. Before joining the ORP, Cameron was the Political Director for the Hamilton County Republican Party, where he worked with a number of local campaigns, including managing Amy Murray's successful campaign for re-election to Cincinnati City Council. Previously he worked for former Secretary of State Jon Husted as the Southwest Ohio Regional Liaison.
