MNGOP Statement on President Trump's SOTU
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan released the following statement regarding President Trump's State of the Union Address:
“Tonight, President Trump’s State of the Union laid out an optimistic path forward for the United States of America by ‘choosing greatness.’ Trump set forth a renewed focus to secure our nation and stop illegal immigration, fight for trade deals that will benefit American workers across the nation, and turn our attention to the need to rebuild our nation.
“President Trump’s tone and words tonight highlighted the need for Congress to reject the resistance and political games and embrace compromise to truly make a difference for all families. Something that is needed now more than ever before. I am encouraged about what the next two years will bring, and hope Democrats are willing to take this olive branch and work with Republicans to pass significant legislation that will improve this country for generations to come.”
