Cory Booker to Campaign in South Carolina on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, 2019
Newark, NJ -- Today, Cory 2020 announced additional details for this weekend’s campaign swing to South Carolina and Selma, Alabama.
In South Carolina, Cory will continue to introduce himself to voters in the Palmetto State to his record of running towards challenges when others had given up, bringing people together to do big things, and building a more fair and just nation for everyone.
Friday, Cory will join South Carolina State Senator Karl Allen and community leaders for a Conversation with Cory Event in Simpsonville.
Saturday, Cory will head to the Lowcountry where the Charleston County Democratic Party, Indivisible SC - Charleston Chapter, and the Lowcountry Students for Political Action will co-host a Conversation with Cory at Burke High School in Charleston. Following this event, Cory will head to Summerville for the Dorchester County Democratic Party Oyster Roast.
Sunday Morning in Selma, Cory will deliver keynote remarks at Brown Chapel AME Church’s Annual “Bloody Sunday” Commemorative Community Service. The annual service commemorates the 1965 Selma Movement for Voting Rights and the watershed Bloody Sunday march where demonstrators were beaten back by Alabama State Troopers on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The moment galvanized support for passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
