Julián Castro to Travel to Iowa, Nevada Ahead of 2020 Presidential Campaign Announcement
Former HUD Secretary to meet with Democratic activists, community leaders, elected officials
SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 6, 2019) – This week, in advance of an announcement about his decision regarding a candidacy for president in 2020, former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary under President Obama and San Antonio Mayor, Julián Castro, will travel to Iowa and Nevada to meet with activists, community leaders and elected officials.
On December 12, 2018, Secretary Castro announced the launch of an exploratory committee for a potential 2020 presidential campaign. In a video to supporters, Castro outlined his vision for an America that keeps its promises; creates opportunity for more Americans; and focuses on education, housing, healthcare, immigration and the environment. Secretary Castro will make an announcement about his decision in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
