Pete King to Address the "First in the Nation Republican Leadership Summit” in Nashua, New Hampshire on Friday, April 17, 2015
Making his 12th visit in the past 20 months, Congressman Pete King will spend Friday in New Hampshire at a series of events including a town hall like homeland security panel discussion at Franklin Pierce University at the invitation of former President George W. Bush’s Chief of Staff Andy Card who is the University President.
Congressman King will also address the "First in the Nation Republican Leadership Summit” in Nashua, sponsored by the New Hampshire GOP. Additionally Rep King will have lunch with former Senator Scott Brown.
At all these appearances Rep King will define the qualities of American leadership and emphasize the absolute necessity for strong homeland and national security policies, and a rejection of isolationism. "To protect our nation and to have any hope of winning in 2016, Republicans must elect a leader who rejects isolationism and who is driven to defeat Islamist terrorism overseas and here at home," said Rep King who is the only Member of Congress serving on the Homeland Security and Intelligence Committees. "Unlike others in New Hampshire this weekend, my main target is Islamist terrorism-not the NSA and not the CIA. My concern is a terrorist bomb going off in Times Square, not a CIA drone killing an American in Starbucks! I also believe it is fundamental Republican philosophy to govern responsibly, not shut government down.
Congressman King will also discuss the importance of having an American leader who supports our police that are under an irrational siege from elements of the liberal media such as the New York Times and opportunists such as Al Sharpton. Additionally Rep. King will stress that Republicans must once reach out and once again ignite Reagan Democrats such as Building and Construction Trades Unions.
