Week 2 of Gov. Scott Walker's Announcement Tour

Gov. Scott Walker will kick off the second phase of an ambitious announcement tour this week with a trip through several early primary states where he has seen considerable grassroots support. Walker will travel to Tennessee, North Carolina, and New Hampshire, and on Saturday’s trip to New Hampshire, joined by former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, Walker will hit the road for a motorcycle tour of the state, which will take him through all 10 counties in the coming months. Walker will also travel to California to deliver remarks at ALEC’s Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Des Moines – Following a fiery speech at the Hall of Fame Dinner where he was called the "night's biggest surprise,” “a liberal’s liberal,” and “the moral compass,” Governor O’Malley will return to Iowa this Friday, July 24th, for a two-day swing through the Des Moines area, Knoxville, and Winterset.
 
Governor O’Malley “exceeded expectations” this past weekend according to media reports, and “received several standing ovations” and “big cheers” as he made a strong case for new leadership and highlighted his long record of getting things done on progressive values. This week, he will hold multiple events around Iowa on Friday and Saturday to further detail his plans to rebuild the American Dream and support middle-class families and small businesses.
 
Governor O’Malley has made Iowa the focus of his campaign and spent more time in state than any other democratic candidate. This is his sixth trip to Iowa since announcing on May 30th. O’Malley will continue to devote significant time in Iowa this summer, focusing on retail politics in Iowa, where a hand-shake and an honest conversation matter far more than even the largest rally.

Today, New Day for America released its second television ad, "Balancing the Budget" that details Governor John Kasich’s record balancing budgets at the national and state level.  No other candidate or potential candidate for President has balanced the federal budget. No one else also has national security experience and experience turning around a major state. “Balancing the Budget” will begin airing in New Hampshire media markets on Tuesday.
 
"John Kasich’s for us and he has a record to prove it," said New Day for America Executive Director Matt Carle. "He balanced the federal budget for the first time since man walked on the moon; it hasn’t been done since. He also has national security experience and is the successful governor of Ohio. Senator Graham Launches “No Nukes For Iran” Tour with Senators McCain and Lieberman TODAY in New York City

Alexandria, VA - TODAY, Senator Lindsey Graham will be joined by special guests, Senator Joe Lieberman and Senator John McCain, to launch his “No Nukes for Iran” Tour at a town hall meeting in New York City.  Senator Graham has been at the forefront of the fight to stop the Obama Administration’s bad nuclear deal with Iran and the “No Nukes for Iran” Tour is the latest in those efforts.

The “No Nukes for Iran” Tour will be a nation-wide tour aimed at encouraging members of Congress to vote against the bad deal negotiated by the Obama Administration.  It will take Senator Graham to states such as Indiana, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Minnesota, and more.

The tour will take place over the course of the next 60 days or until Congress votes on this bad deal.  While it will take time away from the campaign trail, Senator Graham has spoken at length about the priority of defeating this bad deal because of its implications for the future, saying most recently on CNN, “This is a lousy deal negotiated by an incompetent Commander-in-Chief and the next president is going to have a mess on their hands.”

In addition to speaking out against the bad deal with Iran, Senator Graham has offered solutions for what he would do in the negotiations if he were president. As he said in an interview with NBC’s Today Show, “I’d tell the Iranians you’re not going to get a penny as long as you’re the largest state sponsor of terrorism.  I’d tell the Iranians we’re not going to lift the UN arms embargo until you stop toppling your neighbors. I would make sure that you would never take inspections away as long as they were the largest state sponsor of terrorism.”

Anderson, SC-South Carolina Congressman Jeff Duncan announced today that US Senator and Presidential candidate Ted Cruz will be one of the special guests at this year's 5th Annual Faith & Freedom BBQ. "Senator Cruz has been a strong voice for the people in Washington, and I'm looking forward to bringing him to South Carolina for this important event," said Duncan.

Duncan used a combination of public feedback and consideration of previous event speakers to help determine who would speak at this year's event. Nearly 1,400 people attended last year's event and previous speakers include Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Marco Rubio, and Senator Rand Paul.

"I am looking forward to returning to the Palmetto State and joining my friend Jeff Duncan at the largest annual GOP event in South Carolina," said Senator Cruz.

According to Duncan, he plans on announcing two or three more guest speakers for the event. The 5th Annual Faith & Freedom BBQ will take place on Monday, August 24th at the Anderson Civic Center.
