Chelsea Clinton to Make Campaign Stops for Hillary Clinton in Minnesota on February 28-29, 2016

On Sunday, February 28, and Monday, February 29, Chelsea Clinton will return to Minnesota to attend Hillary for Minnesota Get Out The Caucus canvass kick offs and Women for Hillary events in Minnetonka, South Saint Paul, Rochester, and Duluth, where she will encourage Minnesotans to caucus for Hillary Clinton on March 1. She will be joined by Governor Mark Dayton in Minnetonka and South Saint Paul, and Congressman Tim Walz in Rochester. At the events, Chelsea Clinton will talk with Minnesotans about what is at stake for women and families in this election and how, as President, her mother will break down the barriers that hold people back.

The events are free and open to the public.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Endorses Marco Rubio For President

Today, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam endorsed Marco Rubio for president. Conservative leaders across the country know Marco is the right choice to be the next commander-in-chief.

Governor Haslam was elected Governor in 2010, and has been a leader in turning conservative principles into action. Under Governor Haslam’s results-driven, common sense leadership, Tennessee is recognized as a national leader in education, job creation and fiscal responsibility. Before being elected Governor, Haslam was the Mayor of Knoxville from 2003 to 2011. He also has a long and successful career as a business executive.

In endorsing Marco, Tennessee Governor Haslam issued the following statement:

Hillary for America is airing a new ad in South Carolina featuring Congressman Jim Clyburn making the case for Hillary Clinton stating that she “is the only candidate I trust to fight the injustice too many feel and build on the President’s progress, not rip it away.” In the ad, called “Hands Down” Congressman Clyburn talks about how our country needs someone who can move our country forward.
 
The new ad begins airing today in South Carolina.
 
“I think that if one were to look at the qualifications of the candidates and really reflect upon what our country can be, and look at who can best get us to the place -  I think it’s hands down Hillary Clinton. Today former U.S. Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-OH) released the following statement in support of Gov. John Kasich:
 
"I have always believed that our Party and Country should be governed by someone who has actually governed something. The Presidency isn’t a place for on the job training.
 
My friend John Kasich is the only person in the race for the nomination of our Party with the requisite experience to be President. He is the only candidate who understands what it is like to actually govern – not just talk about it.
 
Mr. Trump is a successful businessman – but running a company simply isn’t the same thing as being the leader of the free world. Senators Rubio and Cruz are fine first-term Senators – but we have seen how unprepared a one-term Senator is for the job of President during the last seven years.
 
I served with John Kasich in the House and watched as he became the architect of the first balanced federal budget since World War II. Not only was the budget balanced, the country was actually able to pay down some of the national debt – rather than simply passing it on to future generations. He accomplished that goal, which was and is a priority for Republicans, while a Democrat – Bill Clinton – was in the White House. He did it by recognizing that negotiation is not surrender. He showed that you can compromise without compromising core values.
 
I have also watched his six years as Governor of my home state of Ohio and seen the job creation and economic recovery that have taken place on his watch. Just like he did when he balanced the budget, Governor Kasich has put the best interest of the citizens he serves above petty partisanship.

In the ad, Marco shares how a generation was inspired by Ronald Reagan, and how today the children of the Reagan revolution are ready to lead us into a New American Century.
