Clinton Raised More Than $40 Million in May for Hillary For America, DNC and State Parties, HFA Begins June With More Than $42 Million on Hand
HFA raised​ ​more than​ ​$27 million,​ ​begins​ ​June with more than $42 million on hand

Hillary Clinton raised more than $27 million in primary funds for Hillary for America and over $13.5 million for the DNC and state parties across the country through the Hillary Victory Fund during May. Clinton has now raised more than $240 million in primary funds for the campaign and more than $62 million for the DNC and state parties through the HVF. HFA continued to stockpile resources and enters June in strong financial shape with more than $42 million on hand. The average donation to HFA in May was about $44.

Funds raised through the Hillary Victory Fund are now being used to fund and staff organizing programs in states across the country that will register voters, recruit volunteers and organize Democrats to turn out and support candidates up and down the ballot. The coordinated campaigns are being run by the DNC and state parties and will coordinate with local, state and federal Democratic campaigns to work to elect progressives across the country.

Throughout this campaign, Trump has refused to outline any coherent foreign policy doctrine, failed to demonstrate a basic understanding of world affairs, and repeatedly proven he's temperamentally unfit to serve as our commander in chief.

Clinton will rebuke the fear, bigotry, and misplaced defeatism that Trump has been selling to the American people.  She will make the affirmative case for the exceptional role America has played and must continue to play in order to keep our country safe and our economy growing.

Today, following the endorsement of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Leadership PAC, Hillary Clinton issued the following statement:

"I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Leadership PAC, which has been fighting for the AAPI community for decades.

"As both First Lady and Senator from New York, I was proud to work with the AAPI community to build a fairer, freer, more tolerant and more inclusive America. During the 90s, the Clinton Administration launched the first-ever White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, so the federal government would be more deliberate about helping all parts of the AAPI community succeed. In the Senate, I fought to reduce the backlog for family visas and reunite immigrant families.

"As President, I will fight alongside the AAPI community to at last pass comprehensive immigration reform with a path to full and equal citizenship. Still today, applicants from the Asia-Pacific region make up about 40 percent of the family visa backlog, and too many have waited decades to have the chance to be back with their families. Today, following the endorsement of the NRDC Action Fund--the first time in their history they have endorsed a Presidential candidate--Hillary Clinton issued the following statement:

"I am honored to have earned the first-ever presidential endorsement of the NRDC Action Fund.

"Climate change is real, it is being driven by human activity, and it is happening right now. We can't wait for climate deniers and defeatists to get on board--we need to take immediate action to build on the progress President Obama has made in fighting this unprecedented global threat. We need to use every tool we have to make America the clean energy superpower of the 21st century and to make sure no one is left out or left behind in the clean energy economy, from communities struggling with the legacy of environmental racism to the coalfield communities that kept America's lights on for generations.

"That's why I have a comprehensive plan to combat climate change with bold, national goals to expand clean energy, boost energy efficiency, and slash oil consumption. I will fight alongside the NRDC Action Fund for environmental and climate justice and invest in building a bright future for coalfield communities. And together, we can get half of our electricity from clean sources within 10 years, create millions of good-paying jobs, protect our communities from the dangerous climate impacts that we're already seeing, and ensure America is leading the world in the fight against climate change.

An Open Letter from Jerry Brown to California Democrats and Independents on Decision to Vote for Hillary Clinton

On Tuesday, June 7, I have decided to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton because I believe this is the only path forward to win the presidency and stop the dangerous candidacy of Donald Trump.

I have closely watched the primaries and am deeply impressed with how well Bernie Sanders has done. He has driven home the message that the top one percent has unfairly captured way too much of America’s wealth, leaving the majority of people far behind. In 1992, I attempted a similar campaign.

For her part, Hillary Clinton has convincingly made the case that she knows how to get things done and has the tenacity and skill to advance the Democratic agenda. Voters have responded by giving her approximately 3 million more votes – and hundreds more delegates – than Sanders. If Clinton were to win only 10 percent of the remaining delegates – wildly improbable – she would still exceed the number needed for the nomination. In other words, Clinton’s lead is insurmountable and Democrats have shown – by millions of votes – that they want her as their nominee.

But there is more at stake than mere numbers. The Republican nominee, Donald Trump, has called climate change a “hoax” and said he will tear up the Paris Climate Agreement. He has promised to deport millions of immigrants and ominously suggested that other countries may need the nuclear bomb. He has also pledged to pack the Supreme Court with only those who please the extreme right.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. Our country faces an existential threat from climate change and the spread of nuclear weapons. A new cold war is on the horizon. This is no time for Democrats to keep fighting each other. The general election has already begun. Hillary Clinton, with her long experience, especially as Secretary of State, has a firm grasp of the issues and will be prepared to lead our country on day one.

Next January, I want to be sure that it is Hillary Clinton who takes the oath of office, not Donald Trump.

Clinton now has the endorsement of 27 national labor unions or labor alliances representing more than 14 million workers.

Hillary Clinton released the following statement after earning the endorsement of the United Autoworkers. Clinton now has the endorsement of 26 national labor unions or labor alliances representing more than 13 million employees ​:​

Every day, the UAW shows us that we can and we will ​'​Make it in America. ​'​The U.S. auto industry has come roaring back from the great recession and just posted its best year ever—because the U.S. auto industry has the world’s best, hardest-working, most innovative and most creative workforce.

We need to keep going—and we need a President who will always stand with working families. Today, about one in five cars built in North America come from Mexico—double the share in 2004. That’s why autoworkers need more than tough talk on trade. They need a President who knows how to compete and win for American workers. I have said for years that I want to see NAFTA renegotiated to give American workers a level playing field. And we need to take on new challenges, like weak auto “rules of origin” standards that provide a backdoor for Chinese steel and other products into the U.S. We’re going to throw the book at China and stop them from cheating American workers.

UAW endorses Hillary Clinton for president | UAW

DETROIT, MICH. – The UAW today endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, citing her support for UAW members, her lifelong commitment to the job security of American families, and her ability to unify and win in November.

“Hillary Clinton understands our issues on trade, understands the complexities of multinational economies and supports American workers, their families and communities,” said UAW President Dennis Williams.

Now is a time for unity, a time to focus on what lies ahead in November. Bernie Sanders has brought to this campaign a dialogue that has been needed for far too long. He has been, and remains, a great friend of the UAW, and of working men and women in this country. But, the fact is, Hillary Clinton has shown under pressure her ability to lead and get elected in November.

The UAW’s directors went through the process of surveying and listening to members for input into the campaign season. “We are a family of over 1 million active and retiree members with strong opinions. Now, we have to choose between two very good UAW friends and move forward as a united membership,” said Williams.

Williams also noted that all candidates regardless of political party were sent questionnaires and none of the Republicans responded, including Donald Trump. Trump also had made public comments about wanting UAW member jobs to move to nonunion, low-paying states to compete with Mexican wages. “Mr. Trump clearly does not support the economic security of UAW families,” said Williams.

Hillary Clinton has a strong track record on issues of importance to UAW members. In 2009 she fought for preserving collective bargaining rights and stood up against attacks on collective bargaining when we needed her. She’s an advocate for expanding overtime rules to include more working families, she believes in equal pay, paid family leave, and quality, affordable child care.

Hillary Clinton believes we need to protect workers against employer misclassification, wage theft, workplace exploitation and efforts to undermine retirement benefits. She also works to support good-paying manufacturing jobs here in the U.S. by opposing the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and recognizes the need to address unfair, existing trade agreements that weaken American manufacturing jobs.

As president, Hillary Clinton will empower a new chief trade prosecutor who will report directly to her and aggressively combat trade violations. She also will triple the number of trade enforcement officers and crack down on currency manipulation that hurts American workers.

A Hillary Clinton presidency will focus on collective bargaining rights and fair treatment of workers, including creating high standards for domestic sourcing and “buy American” laws. She also will create tax incentives for our hardest-hit manufacturing communities and support skills training for America’s workforce.

“For many reasons, the UAW supports Hillary Clinton as the best choice for our members and our nation in the November election,” said President Williams.
