DONALD J. TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES NEW FUNDRAISING RECORD
(New York, NY) September 8, 2016 – Today the Donald J. Trump for President Campaign for President announced historic totals from August’s fundraising efforts. The $90 million haul (inclusive of TMAGA/Trump Victory) came mostly from small donors and includes a significant contribution from Mr. Trump -- bringing his overall contributions to the campaign to almost $60 million dollars. Once again his contributions for the month far surpassed what the FEC legally requires in reimbursements to his related entities such as rent and airfare.
The campaign and both Joint Fundraising Committees finished the month with very strong cash positions on hand, totaling approximately $97 million. This is a significant increase from the previous month.
The results from this month show the continued enthusiastic support the campaign has generated since it started this fundraising push in June. In just the last three months, 2.1 million people from across the nation have donated. On August 31, the day Mr. Trump met with the President of Mexico and delivered his 10-point plan to reform immigration laws in this country, the campaign raised more than $5 million.
“We have broad support from across America. Hillary Clinton and her super PACs have spent over $130 million on negative political ads, and yet we are virtually tied (or better) in the most recent national polls and leading in many of the important swing states. Hillary Clinton spent August attending 70 fundraisers; Donald Trump spent August at 34 rallies and speeches. We are very pleased he has continued to dedicate time to fundraise with the RNC to support important ground operations for the Republican Party. We want to thank our many volunteers and contributors that are clearly committed to electing Donald J. Trump as President in November.” said Steven Mnuchin, Donald J. Trump for President Finance Chairman.
