Statement from Hillary for Minnesota on Mike Pence Vice Presidential Pick
ST. PAUL -- Hillary for Minnesota State Director Mackenzie Taylor released the following statement on Donald Trump’s choice of Indiana Governor Mike Pence to be his running mate:
“Just like Donald Trump, Mike Pence will tear this country apart with his divisive rhetoric and dangerous ideas. As we saw with his record in Indiana, Pence is known for his discriminatory politics that divide Americans and failed economic policies that favor millionaires and corporations over working families.
"Trump chose Pence because he has actually governed to punish women by implementing some of the most restrictive and outrageous anti-abortion laws in the country; all while alienating businesses and dividing communities by signing divisive and discriminatory anti-LGBT legislation. And while Mike Pence has been at the forefront of trying to put our country in a social time machine, he refused multiple times to raise the minimum wage and wants to cut wages across the board for working Americans.
“The contrast with the Trump-Pence ticket couldn’t be more clear. Trump's increasingly erratic, divisive and dangerous behavior on the campaign trail is proof that he has neither the temperament nor the judgment to serve as commander in chief -- and Pence's record has actually worked towards tearing our country apart. Hillary Clinton believes that we are stronger together, that when we work together to solve our problems, everyone can share in the rewards, which is why Minnesotans need Hillary Clinton.”
