DES MOINES -- Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement on Hillary Clinton choosing Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her running mate:

“Hillary Clinton’s choice of Tim Kaine is proof that she is not interested in challenging the status quo in Washington D.C. A Clinton-Kaine administration will be four more years of the same failed policies of President Obama. These policies have made the world less safe and left the people in small towns like Wilton, Iowa worried for their safety. They have led us to the slowest economic recovery since World War II. They have increased taxes and regulations that make it hard for its small business to grow.

It's time for a true leadership, one that can restore economic freedom, provide safety for our citizens, put America in a global leadership position and make America great again."
