Hillary for America Launches New Smartphone App to Empower Supporters

With just over 100 days left until the general election, Hillary for America is launching a new smartphone app today that will empower grassroots supporters, volunteers, and voters across the country. The Hillary 2016 mobile app will allow them to take action and share Hillary Clinton’s vision for a country that is stronger when we work together, as well as her plans to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.

“Our campaign is committed to providing our supporters with the tools they need to be able to take action every day to fight Donald Trump and help put Hillary Clinton in the White House,” said Hillary for America Campaign Manager Robby Mook. “Whether it’s checking in at an organizing event, sharing one of Hillary’s speeches with their friends, or showing their support with a commit to vote card, the Hillary 2016 app will allow supporters to get involved in ways that meet the demands of their busy schedules and personal preferences.”

The mobile app, which is available to iPhone users today, delivers a set of four daily “challenges” to a supporter that all take place within a virtual campaign field office that is inspired by real Hillary for America grassroots organizing offices across the country.

These daily challenges include activities such as checking in to an event or televised speech, sharing an important post or video on Facebook to help get the word out, taking policy quizzes and sharing those insights with friends and family, and many more.By completing challenges, supporters earn stars which they can redeem for in-app and real-life rewards and compete against other Hillary supporters in their respective state and across the country.

This is the first version of the mobile app and it will be rapidly improving over the next 100 days. The app was built in-house by an experienced team who joined the campaign from firms as diverse as DreamWorks Animation, Charity Water, Etsy, and Livestream. The team will update the app in the weeks ahead to incorporate user feedback, add new features and challenges, and further refine the user experience.

With the Hillary 2016 app, users can:
• Complete daily challenges to help elect Hillary Clinton
• Get rewards (digital and real-life ones!)
• Design your own campaign HQ
• Test your knowledge and become an expert on the issues
• Compete against your friends and other supporters
• Share news and information (and even do some good old-fashioned organizing)
• And, as they say, a whole lot more.
The features of the app are able to sync with Twitter, Facebook, and SMS, so supporters, voters, and volunteers can readily share information and opportunities to be a part of the campaign across various platforms.

The Hillary 2016 app is a available in the Apple App Store today. Supporters can also go to www.hillaryclinton.com/mobileapp to download the app.

BURLINGTON, Vt. – In an opening night address on Monday at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will make it clear that Hillary Clinton is by far superior to Donald Trump on every major issue from economics and health care to education and the environment.

Sanders will stress that the most progressive platform in Democratic Party history includes agreements he reached with Clinton to dramatically expand health care access and to make public colleges tuition-free for students from families with annual incomes up to $125,000 a year.

In his remarks, Sanders also plans to rip into Trump for siding with the Koch brothers and echoing fossil fuel industry claims that climate change is a hoax despite the virtually-unanimous scientific consensus that the warming planet is causing devastating harm.

Sanders also will send a message to the convention and to the 13 million voters who supported him that they have begun a political revolution to transform America and that the revolution – Our Revolution – continues. “Together,” he will say, “we continue the fight to create a government which represents all of us, and not just the 1 percent – a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice.”
