Iowa Democratic Party to Open 5 New Offices Statewide; Hundreds of Hillary Clinton Supporters to Volunteer during Weekend of Action
Events to take place this Weekend in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Sioux City, Council Bluffs, and Ames
On Saturday and Sunday, July 9-10, the Iowa Democratic Party will open five new Victory 2016 offices, with more to follow. To celebrate the opening of these offices, Hillary Clinton supporters will hold a "Weekend of Action" with hundreds of volunteers across the state knocking on doors, making phone calls, and speaking with their friends and neighbors about the importance of voting for Hillary Clinton and Democrats up and down the ticket.
“These Victory 2016 offices will serve as community hubs where Democratic activists can gather, share their stories, and continue working toward electing Hillary Clinton and Democrats up and down the ticket so that we can build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top,” said Kate Waters, Iowa Press Secretary for Hillary for America.

Congressman Carter Endorses Donald Trump for President of the United States
Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) released the following statement today formally endorsing Donald J. Trump for President of the United States:

U.S. Representative Farenthold Endorses Donald Trump for President
Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-TX-27) today formally endorsed presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee Donald J. Trump.
Although originally a supporter of fellow Texan, Senator Ted Cruz, Congressman Farenthold says the time for contentious debate has passed and it is now time for the Republican Party to unify around its duly elected nominee.
“I think we're going to see some conservative motion in the country,” said Farenthold on MSNBC in May. “The thing I'm really most excited about is Donald Trump is a deal maker. I spent my six years in Congress with a ‘my way or the highway’ president. I want a dealmaker who will come in and will get some stuff done and I think that's what the American people want. They're tired of gridlock in Washington.”
Farenthold said he believes Donald Trump should not stop talking about the scandals that have plagued the campaign of presumptive Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.
“Given the choice between Mr. Trump and Secretary Clinton, this is a no-brainer. I don’t want someone in the oval office that is ‘extremely careless,’” Farenthold said.
Farenthold took office in 2010 during the “Tea Party” wave that saw the Republican Party take over the leadership of the House of Representatives. He defeated 28-year incumbent Solomon Ortiz in a predominately Hispanic congressional district. He has been re-elected in 2012 and 2014 by a 52% and 56% majority respectively.
Farenthold serves on the Transportation Committee, Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and the Committee on the Judiciary.

Last night’s horrific execution-style shootings of 12 Dallas law enforcement officers – five of whom were killed and seven wounded - is an attack on our country. It is a coordinated, premeditated assault on the men and women who keep us safe.

Hillary for America National Press Secretary Brian Fallon released the following statement Thursday following FBI Director James Comey's appearance before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee:
"Despite the partisan motivations of this hearing, we are glad it took place and that Director Comey had the opportunity to expand upon his remarks from earlier this week. Director Comey's testimony clearly knocked down a number of false Republican talking points and reconciled apparent contradictions between his previous remarks and Hillary Clinton's public statements. The Director's explanations shut the door on any remaining conspiracy theories once and for all.
