Tim Albrecht Named a Senior Advisor at the Republican Party of Iowa
(DES MOINES) – Republican Party of Iowa Chair Jeff Kaufmann today named Tim Albrecht as a senior advisor, where he will focus his efforts on electing Republicans in the November election.
“I am excited Tim has accepted this role on behalf of our party,” said Kaufmann. “Having worked with him since 2003, when I began as a state legislator and he started as communications director in the speaker’s office, I have seen his professionalism and character first-hand. I can’t wait to work with him again.”
Albrecht, 38, started in GOP campaigns in 1999, when he joined the Steve Forbes presidential campaign. Since then he has served in communications and advisory roles for the campaigns of Gov. Mitt Romney, Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, Congressman David Young and Gov. Jeb Bush. Earlier this year he launched Albrecht Public Relations, an integrated communications firm serving largely corporate clients.
Kaufmann and Albrecht say the U.S. Senate race will be a top priority.
“The Culver-Judge governing philosophy led to a disastrous borrow and spend mentality that nearly bankrupted our state, said Albrecht, who served more than four years as Branstad’s communications director. “Severe mismanagement and an administration mired in scandal – criminal, in the case of the film office – is a bad omen were Patty Judge to be elected to the U.S. Senate. I could not sit on the sidelines as millions of dollars from Patty Judge’s D.C. friends pour into Iowa to distort Chuck Grassley’s record. It’s been a sad spectacle.”
Albrecht is an Ida Grove, Iowa, native and resides in West Des Moines with his family.
