Hillary for America Raises $29.5 Million in March, Begins April with $29 Million On Hand
Hillary Clinton raised about $29.5 million for her primary campaign during March. That amount brings the first quarter total to nearly $75 million raised for the primary, beating the campaign's goal of $50 million by about 50 percent. HFA begins April with nearly $29 million on hand. Clinton raised an additional $6.1 million for the DNC and state parties during the month of March, bringing the total for the quarter to about $15 million.
Clinton closed out the month with the best online fundraising day of the campaign on March 31, and more than 50 percent of the roughly $29.5 million came in online from grassroots donations. Hillary for America has now received donations from more than 1 million people.
"By making smart investments and beating our first quarter fundraising goal by nearly 50 percent, we've been able to build a nearly insurmountable pledged delegate lead and earned 2.5 million more votes than our opponent," said Hillary for America Campaign Manager Robby Mook. "As Hillary Clinton has progressed through the primary, we've seen a surge of grassroots support across the country and are thrilled that we now have more than one million contributors to this campaign, most of whom have given less than $100."
