
Bernie Sanders Returns to New York City on Wednesday, April 13, 2016
NEW YORK -- U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders on Wednesday will travel to New York City. The Democratic Party presidential candidate will host the first of three rallies in Washington Square Park, followed by Prospect Park on Sunday and Hunter's Point South Park on Monday. The campaign stops will feature special guests Spike Lee, Rosario Dawson, Shailene Woodley, Vampire Weekend, Linda Sarsour, Tim Robbins, Graham Nash, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Danny DeVito, Justin Long, Grizzly Bear, Danny Glover, Fisher Stevens and TV on the Radio. Sanders will discuss a wide range of issues, including getting big money out of politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care.

Information for the public: Music starts at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Admission is first come, first served. General admission entrances located at SW and SE corners of the park. For security reasons, please do not bring bags and limit what you bring to small, personal items like keys and cell phones. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs and signs or banners on sticks will not be allowed through security. Public transit is encouraged. No public parking available on site.
